Question: What should I do after inserting this SATA SSD?
Answer: You should use the disk management tool to create a new partition so that this SSD meets the requirements of different operating systems.
Question: Why is the system not recognizing this SATA SSD after installation?
Answer: Any new SSD needs to be fully configured for first-time use by installing an operating system from an installation CD. If the system is installed using cloning software or if the SSD is used as an external device (such as an external hard drive), the new SSD needs to be initialized. Otherwise, issues such as missing boot files or unrecognized drive letters may occur.
Question: Can this SSD be used in a laptop?
Answer: All YUCUN 2.5 SATA SSDs can be used in laptops and desktop computers with a SATA connection.
Question: Why does the computer show less capacity than the original capacity?
Answer: This is because storage products like SSDs use NAND flash as the storage medium, and their calculation is based on the decimal system, i.e., 1KB = 1000B, 1MB = 1000KB. However, the operating system uses the binary system, i.e., 1KB = 1024B, 1MB = 1024KB. Therefore, the actual displayed capacity is approximately 93% of the total storage capacity. The formula to calculate the actual capacity is: Total storage capacity × 0.93.
For example: 512GB SSD:
SSD capacity: 512x1000x1000x1000=512000000000B.
Conversion to actual capacity displayed by the computer: 512000000000B/1024/1024/1024=476GB.
Quick calculation: 512GB x 0.93 = 476GB.
