Title: Great that it links with Alexa
Review: As I ordered this Yale Smart Video Doorbell for our new house I have not given it it’s full work-out but what I have seen seems to be compatible with our needs and expectations. I expected that a well known brand as Yale is would produce something that is quality.We did muddle through a bit on the app, not that hard but it was getting the video to show. All sorted on that front, we were impressed y the quality of the video and the wide angle that it gave. As people of a certain age don’t go around with their smartphone glued to their hand I was somewhat concerned that there is no ringer inside the house, only the alert to your phone. I was, therefore, delighted to see that the doorbell can be linked to your Alexa account so you are alerted that way and I have a few Alexa devices dotted around the house so I shouldn’t miss any caller, unless I’m in the garden, of course, but that’s probably the same with an actually door chime.I think this will be very useful in our new property and I look forward to using it.

Review: Unfortunately I can’t rate this product lower than one, I’ve had nothing but issues with it since opening.Firstly you need an account to use it, my main doorbell one that I have doesn’t require this. You can set that up without an account but wouldn’t have cloud for example.This will not allow you to skip the process. It then demands your phone number, you can’t skip without providing a valid UK one!Then it demands a photograph of your face? What? Why do they need this information? You can upload a blank screen but still it shouldn’t need this.Each and every single time I tried setting up the app I was met with error after error. I’ve uploaded a photo showing this problem, I couldn’t create an account until I tried in the early hours of the morning.Before even bothering to attempt to fit I wanted to check it worked, the drill holes are in different places than my other and I wasn’t ruining the wall outside if it wasn’t right.Once set up through the app I put it through the works, testing and making sure it was good.Sadly it wasn’t, it doesn’t notify when the button is pressed for a good half a minute. It doesn’t push notifications correctly, any recordings I’ve had won’t play back. I have to reset each and every single time. There’s no base station so you’re completely reliant on it pushing notifications to alert you.The video quality is excellent but the TalkBack is pants. There’s a delay, it doesn’t feed through quick enough.Another major flaw is it has zero instructions, I had to work out how it could be wall mounted. I then discovered a really serious problem, the way it locks into the wall plate means you can easily pull it off the wall.There’s a release pin in the box, the idea is you press into the bottom hole and it pushes a locking clip up. This is where you remove it when needing to charge for example. Well, you can actually pull it off the wall plate without much effort.My other door bell camera is locked into a metal mount. You can’t get that off without the pin, this could easily be taken.The final issue is how it stores data, my other door bell has a base a base station. In that is a SD card. I have not only cloud saves but I also have a permanent method to protect visits. That’s also how it rings, there is no such thing with this, so not only does the non existent alerting mean you miss people at the door it also means you have no backup if someone clears off with the unit.

Title: Probably worth it if you already use Yale
Review: I’m a bit torn on this device. I found it was really irritating to set up and it is fairly slow at allowing you to things which defeats it’s point a bit. I think it might be worth it if you’re already deep into the Yale home security ecosystem with all the other gadgets because they seem to mesh well together but if you only have a few devices here and there, it is a lot of hassle with limited use and kinda buggy. Overall it’s not awful but I’m not sold on the value. Probably a worthwhile edition if you want a complete automated home security system though as the other devices might be able to help alert you with less delay. Not that helpful if all you have are a few alarms

Title: Setting up is troublesom!
Review: I am using it for nearly a month now and is working fine, except that the initial setup is a bit troublesome. Absence of a detailed guidance is an issue, but if you download the Yale Home app then the instructions are available in it. I already own a Yale smart door lock and hence the app was already installed in my phone. Setting up the door bell is not straight forward. This was the same experience I had with the door lock and the customer support so disappointing.it’s not some 4k ultimate video recording doorbell, but the video is clear enough and for the price it is worth, it does have some issues I found work arounds. It is slow to alert you thru the app on your phone. But this is the same experience I have with the Ring doorbell I have. Probably due to the delays in communicating with the server and sending it back to you. The work around is if you have Echo Dot or Echo Show and you know how to set up routines, have Alexa tell you when that device detects motion, I found it lightning quick. I also discovered you can have Echo Show or Echo Dot be your chime so again if you use Alexa routines, and you have Alexa devices, you will never have an issue hearing when someone rings your Yale Doorbell, don’t forget to link your Yale app and the Alexa app to ensure the above things work for you.Now if you don’t care about saving videos and you just want to know who is at your door regardless if you are home or away, this will alert you, it will display to you video of who and allow you to talk to them also and I must say it does a good job at it and you don’t need the subscription. Overall, it is a good security device, and although obviously it is far from the better ones. From a pure value Perspective I would highly recommend this. No wires, pretty much can put it where you want it, Again it does everything pretty well, One of the best prices out there, just understand it has shortcomings and it will certainly do the job for you.

Il est lent à vous alerter via l’application de votre téléphone.Probablement en raison des retards dans la communication avec le serveur et dans le fait de vous le renvoyer. La solution est que si vous avez Echo Dot ou Echo Show et que vous savez comment configurer des routines, demandez à Alexa de vous dire quand cet appareil détecte un mouvement, je l’ai trouvé très rapidement. J’ai également découvert que vous pouvez utiliser Echo Show ou Echo Dot comme carillon. Die Kamera ist wetterfest und hat bisher problemlos Regen und Wind getrotzt.Die Bewegungserkennung ist zuverlässig und schickt bei Aktivitäten sofort Benachrichtigungen auf das Smartphone.Die Nachteile sind: wie immer der Accountzwang in der App, sowie der extra Abschluss eines Abonnements (4€ oder 10 € / Monat), da leider keine SD-Karte verbaut werden kann. EASY INSTALLATION: Download the app for step-by-step instruction on set-up. Place the Smart Indoor Camera on a table or mount on a wall using the included mounting plate. Easily adjust the viewing angle, with up to 360 degrees rotation, so you can capture the view you want.
CUSTOMISABLE ZONES: Set up specific detection zones for notifications or automatic recording of videos at any time when motion is detected. Set up privacy zones for areas that you want to black out e.g. your neighbours property.
MOTION RETRIGGER TIME: Select the time delay between one recording and the next to avoid multiple recordings of the same event, reducing the number of notifications.
