Using the embedded software can be helpful in many situations. To set the time and date stamp simply open the software and on a Windows Computer and it will automatically sync to the computers time once you press the start button.

You can also increase the quality of the audio being recorded. When on “HQ” quality the audio recorder will hold about 288 hours of recordings. HQ quality is very good. We have not seen many situations that you would need to change this setting. With “XHQ” the recording capacity will be about 144 hours and with “PCM” the recording capacity will be about 24 hours.

SVOS level is the voice activation sensitivity level. The default setting of “0” i good for most audio environments, But if it is very loud or very quiet you can change this setting to capture the audio that you are trying to.

The easiest way for MAC users to use this software is to use a Windows based computer to setup the device. You can still listen to the recordings on a MAC.

At the top of the audio recorder is a half-wheel switch with a notch to show which mode it is in and a couple of small indicators to delineate between modes. Review: Canâ€™t change date for Mac users, records with incorrect date and time stamp. Doesnâ€™t record when plugged into computer as a USB. You canâ€™t password protect it, so risky if found. Review: Mini Voice Activated Audio RecorderWhat a fabulous bit of kit. It looks just like an ordinary USB memory stick but itâ€™s far from that. It is also a voice recorder which records conversations in incredibly clear quality. I am used to using the old fashioned dictaphones but this is an amazing step up. The recorder needs to be charged in a USB port for about 2 hours before turning on at the hidden switch it can then just be left to record either continuously or on a voice activation mode. I cannot stress enough how brilliant the voice activation mode is. It saves on battery power and storage but most of all it saves you having to listen for hours before you get to the bit you want. On voice activation mode the battery lasts for several days and the storage is huge, more than I will ever use. Playback is as simple as inserting the device in the USB port of a PC and clicking on the file, it is then just played via Media Player, simple.I have no intention of using this device covertly but it is incredibly useful as a dictation device and also to record meetings so that I donâ€™t have to bother taking notes. Highly recommend:)
