Review: First impressions of the phone is that it feels really good in your hand. It feels pretty premium. The screen is clear and it comes with a case. The screen is pretty good, not high end refresh rate, but good nevertheless. Android works quickly and you don’t notice that this isn’t a flagship phone. It comes with charging cable and adapter (not many supply one). This charges the phone at 18w, which is pretty fast.The camera is pretty good too and you can get some pretty good shots. Not so good in low light, but acceptable.I’ve used this phone for a week now and it is pretty good for a daily driver. I got the silver which looks amazing.I you want a pretty good phone for not that much money, this is a good one to consider.

Review: I got the Umidigi F3 Pro 5G for for my son to replace his aging 4G Android phone. I think I made the right decision. We use T-Mobile. Dropped in the sim card and the phone worked right away and has 5G signal (not 5G UC). Three weeks into using the phone and he has been happy with the phone. There have been no issues using the phone and the battery life has been grat to last him through the day. He spends a lot of time streaming and games on the phone and he easily goes the full day without needing to charge the phone.Pros:- included case. Umidigi is not a big phone manufacturer, so it is difficult to find cases. The case is thin, but protective enough to prevent scratches and minor drops. Definitely does not appear to be MIL standard or heavy duty.- Included screen protector – It is plastic, not glass. But better than nothing.- Battery life. Able to easily provide full day life even with gaming and streaming use.- Dedicated programmable button – On the left side is a programmable button that can be set to take most any action, like open an app.- Power button is the fingerprint sensor. The power button is on the right side under the volume buttons and doubles as a fingerprint sensor. It is quick and accurate, unlike phone with in screen fingerprint sensors which may not always recognize your print, especially with a screen protector on.- System Updates. Yes I was surprised as well to see an update come to the phone. I was not really expecting any, so glad to see one come by.Cons:- Limited accessories. I have not seen any cases or screen protectors available. It may be available on Umidigi’s site, but not on Amazon.- Future system updates or the Android OS unlikely. It’s a small company, so my expectations is that we may not see any.For a mid-range phone at about $200. I can see no real fault with the phone to suggest it is not worth getting. As long as you set your expectations straight, this is a good phone to get that has the latest Android (as of August 2023), 5G, no lag in performance. I think there is plenty of value for getting the Umidigi F3 Pro 5G for the price.

Review: This is a very well-made mid-tier phone loaded with features for the money. I have owned other Umidigi phones before and have always appreciated their build quality, simplicity, reliability, and price. The F3 Pro 5G is no different and does not disappoint. It comes with Android 13 with no bloatware, just a simple Android OS that works as it should. Some of the features I like about the phone include support for 5G, ample RAM and storage (I chose 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage), decent camera picture quality, the capability to capture 2K video, 1080 screen resolution, NFC support, and the capable Dimensity 700 processor that handles everyday tasks well. Another thing I noticed is the size of the F3 Pro 5G; its width is slightly slimmer than my previous Umidigi phones, making it easier to hold in the hand, which is another improvement.I have been using the phone for a week now and haven’t experienced any issues with it. This is what a phone should be like – simply working as expected. I am very pleased with the battery life and how fast it charges with the included charger. The cell reception is excellent, the screen is bright, and the Wi-Fi connection speed is very good.All these features come at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend this phone to people who want a well-featured device without the hefty price tag

Review: Update 3rd review: April 17, 2024 (bought 8 months ago). Not much to report, it is still working fine, I use it every day, no problems at all.Update 2nd review: Dec 23, 2023 (bought 4 months ago). I live in Canada, buy I have been 3 months already traveling in Italy, using a new SIM card I did purchase here. This Umidigi phone keeps working flawesly, nothing wrong to report. It got several times wet with pouring rain, but it keeps going, no problems. I’m so glad to have so much internal space (256Gb) that I though it was going to be way too big, but with lots of videos, pictures and download I’m filling it slowly and steadily. I have the extra SD card slot that I’m using also, so I won’t run out of storage I hope. I just want to say, go for the 256Gb internal storage option, you won’t regret it.1st review: UMIDIGI Model F3 Pro 5G (8Gb-256Gb): I still own (really!) the next Umidigi phones (Power, A5 Pro, A9 Pro, A11 Pro and A13 Pro), and they are all still working after all these years (the old ones I gave to my kids and my wife or have as backup phones), that’s why I like Umidigi branded products, they have great value, you can find parts if need to repair anything (like a charging port I broke, I replaced the port myself in the older models). I will have to compare it to my last UMIDIGI model that I bought over a year ago, the A13 Pro (that I believe is discontinued but I could be wrong, and it has only 4G connectivity, and I giving it now to my older daughter). So, I took the SIM and SD cards from the old phone and put them in the new phone, I’ve transfered most data through my wifi network (it took 1h 15min for this, it can be even faster if you use a usb-c to usb-c cable to connect both phones, but I don’t have one at hand) and that wasn’t too difficult thing to do. My first impression, it felt robust for its size, not too thin and not too heavy (too thin implies weaker structure and expensier to produce, this product has a perfect balance weight/power/pricepoint, in my opinion). I’ve tried to bend it a bit to test how strong it is, and doesn’t bend at all, so good point in there. And I have been using it for 2 weeks already, and I haven’t have any issues. The display is very crisp and responsive, the huge size is a plus!. This smartphone is very fast and very snappy (about 40% faster that the one I bought a year ago!). The model I bought has 8Gb RAM memory (that you can control in the settings if you want to have in 4, 6 or 8Gb RAM, I’ve just put it to the max), but for the very small difference in price for the 6Gb model, and in order to future proof it (and to get maximum operative speed), I recommend to go for the bigger 8Gb RAM model, it’s a no brainer. Also I’ve tried plugging a network RJ45 Ethernet card into the usb-c port (Sumlett branded), and it works perfect at 96.5Mbps both upload and download in my home 100mbps internet connection, ping time is 8ms. When you plug the ethernet card it detects it right away and automatically disables both wifi and mobile data connectivity, you switch totally to you wire network (so as fast as your internet provider is). I heavily use it for video playing, and some gaming, and it works great, the battery last an entire working day to me (previous phone was good for a day but not more (video playing consumes lots of power), this one goes more than a day, without doubt). I was going to buy a new case, but I’ve tried the case from the A13 Pro and it has exactly the same locations for all holes and buttons, so that’s what I’m still using the older case. I’d recommend to get a flip leather case for it to protect the display from scratches, as the clear case it comes with is very minimalist and doesn’t protect much the front display. Pictures: I’m no professional but the pictures look great to me, also the selfies one. Video also works properly (you can choose 2K (1440), FHD(1080), HD(720) and VGA (480). With a storage of 256Gb + a separate slot for another SIM or SD card that you provide (I’m using myself a 200Gb SDcard one) this has pleeeenty of room for many years to come. Signal reception (both 4G and WiFi) and talk quality are great (even in remote zones, I’m connecting with very old and very new wifi access points and it works quite well), no issues there. I haven’t tried the 5G speed yet as I don’t have it available where I live, but in 2 months I’m visiting Italy and I may have the opportunity to test it there and update this review. The speaker sound is actually very loud and sharp (I’m surprised here), you get such good sound quality for such tiny speaker located at the very bottom by the port charger, but if you want louder sound I suggest you to use Bluetooth headsets or external speakers. I’ve also paired other Bluetooth devices (weight scales, radon meters, my car stereo, a few headsets, and other smartphones too) they all paired easily without problems. I’ve also tried plugging in a few corded headphones, they also work just fine. It comes with Android 13 installed, that is actually a great operative system, easy to use. My older phone used to get a bit warm with use, this one stays cool.So, to finish, I recommend this phone to everybody as I’m very pleased, it’s snappy, big and nice display make it easy for reading, it does it all the stuff I need properly and for a very reasonable price, you can’t go wrong with it.

Review: I have been waiting for Umidigi to release an unlocked phone with Global 5g bands that I could use on the Verizon network, and this one finally seemed to fit the bill. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot from such an inexpensive phone, but I own two Umidigi smartwatches and have gifted numerous more over the years and they have all been excellent so I thought I’d give it a shot. It took a few days to arrive, and upon opening the package I have to say that I was impressed – It was very professionally packaged, with clear, bright imagery and text. Inside the package is the phone with a screen protector and clear TPU case included and already installed, a larger-than-average wall wart (power adapter), and what appears to be an above-average quality USB-C charging cable, as well as a clear, concise instruction manual in multiple languages. The phone was also already charged to 96% so it was ready to use right out of the box. Inside the package there is also a SIM Removal Tool that is used to eject the SIM tray so you can install the SIM card from your cellphone provider. This phone has Dual SIM capability so you can have two separate SIM cards installed and operational at the same time if needed, in case you travel to multiple countries and need that feature. You can alternatively install a Micro SD card up to 512GB in the second SIM slot to increase the storage capacity of the already very reasonable 256GB internal capacity. After taking the phone out of the box I removed the SIM Tray using the removal tool, installed the SIM from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S21 and powered the phone on. It was a little slow to boot up and get to the Setup screen but was quick and easy to move through the standard Android setup. Once the initial settings were completed the phone asked if I wanted to transfer apps and data from another phone or device, and I opted to copy everything from my S21 by plugging in a USB-C to USB-C cable, which the Umidigi phone walks you through and makes very easy. It may take a while (mine took about 18 minutes due to the number of apps, data, contacts, etc.) so be patient. After it was finished I restarted the phone and let it complete the rest of the software setup as is normal. Although the phone showed that it was connected to the Verizon 5G network I was initially unable to make or receive phone calls or send or receive texts, but I was able to go to webpages and connect to the google play store, etc… I ended up having to reset the network from within the settings menu, and after that calls and texts started working as they should. When loading a site with heavy data the phone will load the page quickly and accurately but may hesitate slightly while scrolling the pages, but overall it is hardly noticeable and nothing to complain about really. The overall speed and consistency of the phone are quite impressive, and on par with phones priced 4-8 times what this one costs. The size, clarity of the screen, and features rival MANY of the more expensive phones on the market today, and other than the lack of wireless charging, IP68 waterproofing, and having a slightly less capable camera system (and that’s not saying this one is not good, as it takes great pictures and has some nice features), this phone impresses me just as much as many of those “market leaders”.Next, I connected my Galaxy Gear S3 Frontier smartwatch, and a pair of headphones to the phone via Bluetooth to test the compatibility out, and they both paired quickly and easily and work well. I did have a minor issue with my Gear S3 smartwatch seeming to disconnect from the phone after about 10 minutes, so I restarted the phone and reconnected it (via the Galaxy Wear app), and it disconnected from the app again just a few minutes later, but wasn’t actually disconnected from the phone because I received a call that came through to the watch just fine, and also received text notifications on the watch just fine, so I think that there is an issue with the Galaxy Wear app itself after it was “transferred” from my S21 to the Umidigi. I plan to uninstall the app and reinstall it later to see if that corrects the issue, but it’s not that important to me right now. The headphones remained paired and operate as expected and have not lost connectivity so I am sure it is not an issue with the Bluetooth in the phone itself. I also connected the phone to my car via Bluetooth and everything works perfectly in there as well, I made and received a couple of phone calls, used hands-free voice to text to tell the car to call someone, and received text messages without any issues.For $239 you really can’t go wrong with this phone, and if you can catch it when it has a $20 or $30 coupon, you’re getting an absolute bargain! I had just missed out on a $30 coupon, but waited a couple of days and saw a $20 coupon pop up so I quickly took advantage of it before it went away. If you’re looking for a solid performer with great features without breaking the bank, this is an excellent option. If you’re buying your first smartphone for a teenager or even for yourself and you aren’t a “fanboy/girl” of Samsung or Apple, you will be more than happy with everything this phone has to offer (it does virtually everything the $800-1500 phone does, without the price tag and stress about breaking it or losing it). I doubt I’ll buy another new $1000 phone again after this, especially if Umidigi ups their game and adds wireless charging, which is about the only feature I miss on this phone compared to my S21, and maybe IP68 waterproofing since I do have a tendency to end up in the water with my phones from time to time.I have been using the phone for 3 days now, in place of my S21, for calls, texts, video, music, controlling my smart-home devices, viewing and controlling security cameras in and around my home, and as a remote control for three separate entertainment systems in my living room, bedroom, and outside under my Gazebo, and it has been functioning very well for everything in my day-to-day life. It currently has 15% battery life remaining, and I have not plugged it in to charge at all since unboxing it (remember earlier when I said it arrived already charged to 96%?). I will admit I am not a major consumer of video or music, nor do I talk for extended periods, on the phone, so my battery consumption is typically lower than average, but the battery life on this phone has been really impressive so far, especially considering I usually have to charge my S21 every night and sometimes more frequently. It is, of course, NEW, so we’ll see how well it holds up after a year of hard use.I will most likely give this phone to my 17-year-old to replace a well-worn Galaxy S8, and let it be abused far beyond what I am capable of, and will update my review in the future if anything changes.The first few included photos are of the packaging, the phone and included accessories as I unpacked it, a closeup of the phone with the case and screen protector (and a second removable layer in place), another photo of the package taken WITH the F3 Pro itself, and a photo of an Umidigi smartwatch taken with the F3 Pro.
