Title: Works Well
Review: My original Apple SSD in a A1466 Macbook Air failed and I bought the 512MB version to replace it, despite the misleading sizes in the description it is the same size as the original and fitted no problem. The laptop had been running Big Sur so I was hopeful that it the new SSD would be recognised when booting to recovery mode, however disc utility did not see it. I ordered one of the Catalina boot USBs on Amazon Same Day delivery, when booting using the USB it immediately recognised the new SSD and I was able to format, install Catalina and then reboot on the new SSD and quickly update to my original MacOS and restore from Time Machine. So far very happy rescuing my laptop at a good price.

Title: Failed after a few days
Review: Timetec 512gb Mac SSD – failed after a few days, just a few hours use. Complete failure, Macbook flashing file folder, followed all recovery/diagnostics guides for this issue, terminal disk failure. I home build PCs and file servers, so I know a failed drive when I see one – Mac or PC, my experience suggests they are unreliable – some other reviews have similar examples. The gotcha is that I dare not send it back for replacement because the drive contains personal data and there is no way to wipe it to prevent the data being recovered, so like another reviewer I am stuck with an £68 mistake. Fortunately, I still had the original Apple ssd and so that is back in the Macbook working – now got to decide whether it is worth risking another third party SSD to increase capacity or to just go with external storage

Title: Great value, saved me the cost of a new Mac
Review: My hard drive was corrupted and I needed a new hard drive. Bought this for my Mac Air which I bought in 2013. Thought I would have to buy a new PC, Had this installed professionally locally at very little cost. Went back to Apple and got the software down loaded. Managed to get everything back. PC now as good as new.

Title: It can bring a 2013 Macbook air well back into a daily driver!
Review: I had been struggling with 120GB and then realised that one could swap the SSD. Made all the difference in my use of the machine. Well worth the swap.

Title: Thanks. This drive working fine.
Review: My Old SSD failed on MacBook Pro (2015), so had to buy this one as compatible. Mac could not see it straight away so had to use USB memory card to install original software on it to start my Mac operating. After that I was able to see the new drive in the disk utility. I used another usb memory card with latest software to install it on the new drive through optional mode when restarting computer holding button Alt. I had to use this way as installing latest software after installing original one was not possible.

Review: This is a great drive. My problem was that I was stuck in a death loop of having a broken OEM drive and a version of MacOS that doesn’t support this new drive. So I couldn’t upgrade the OS, and I couldn’t make this work, even after days of effort. “You need this to get that. But you need THAT to get THIS!” Stupid Apple. I can’t understand why after all this time, they still make simple things difficult. But if you have the OS version they specify, this drive will work great. And you can’t beat the price.
