Review: Arrived 30 August 2022, itâ€™s a great product but stopped connecting to wifi and refused to reconnect yesterday, 16 April 2023.I contacted Tenda about warranty, on their advice, and with the assistance of Amazon, I contacted original seller and got a rapid response from them too. Title: How to fix connection to Alexa
Review: FIVE STARS?: I have had three of these for 18 months. They are solidly made, they have all worked perfectly with their own app. so I think they deserve 5 stars.THE FAILURES: In the last 18 months ‘Alexa’ has twice failed to connect to all three of mine. That is irritating but no worse than lots of other software or Apps.THE CAUSE?: Alexa does not work natively with Tenda Beli plugs. Alexa needs a software ‘patch’ which Amazon call a ‘skill’. You have to install the ‘skill’ before the Tenda Beli units will work and Alexa sometimes loses that ‘skill’.THE CURE: Within the Alexa App select – Home/More/Skills & Games/Your Skills (scroll down to find ‘Your Skills’). Select whatever Tenda Beli ‘skill’ is listed and then ‘DISABLE SKILL’. Close the Alexa App.Restart the Alexa App and then re-enable the Tenda Beli ‘skill’. Alexa should find the ‘missing’ devices and work normally again.IN FAIRNESS: As far as I can tell, the problem is not the Tenda Beli units. The problem is with the Alexa ‘skill’. If I am wrong, I hope someone can give a better explanation in layman’s language.I note that all smart plugs on Amazon get a similar star-rating regardless of price. Even Amazon’s own brand has drawbacks and presumably they don’t require an extra ‘skill’ (software patch).
