The copper tip has been plated with iron and then coated with nickel to give a very long soldering life when compared with other tips. The tip is suitable for use with lead-free solders. The tip uses an internal metal shim for fixing. This shim gives better heat transfer and also makes the tip easier to change if a replacement is needed.

Title: Makes Soldering a LOT easier
Review: I do a little bit of soldering on stripboard for knocking up simple circuits and also built three home made Arduino boards. I have dabbled in electronics previously and really struggled with soldering. I decided to try a small tip and bought this one – what a difference. Most irons come with a much bigger elliptical ended bit which I always found difficult to use on stripboard projects.This smaller tip is way easier to use and I now have no problems with soldering up stripboards and connectors. Another tip I have found works is to get a lower power iron. I use an 18w instead of the common 40w and this also seems to help. Also, make sure your stripbaord is clean. If the coppper has gone dull use a wire pan scourer and some washing up liquid to get it bright again, and try to keep your fingers off the copper.

Title: Should have bought one years ago
Review: Bought to replace very old tip which had hole in side after many years use. Easy to fit – better than old design which was held in place with clip. Needed something for through hole solder components so tried the finer tip. I am not brilliant with a soldering iron but was surprised at how good the results were. Should have bought one years ago

Review: Voilà presque 5 ans que je n’avais pas changé la panne de mon fer à soudé antex. Ce dernier commençait à donner des signes de faiblesse.A la réception je me suis empressé de les tester, et pour tout dire j’en suis vraiment enchanté. Les pannes ont l’air bien faite et permettent de faire des petites soudures de précision sans peine. Le tout est livré dans un petit sac hermétique sur lequel se trouve une petite étiquette. Difficile de dire si ce sont des pannes originales, mais la qualité est bien présente donc je pense qu’il n’y a pas trop de soucis à se faire sur ce point.Contrairement à mes anciennes pannes, il n’y a ici aucun serrage mécanique : vous les enfoncez et elles tiennent sur place ce qui n’est pas plus mal.Très bon achat ! et je pense avoir bien fait d’en prendre 2.
