Title: A Lovely microwave oven. But fitted with an EU plug & a crappy adaptor
Review: I ordered this for my elderly mother who lives on her own as it has a very simple to use interface -Power adjustment dial & a timer dial. Which is exactly what is needed, knobs, and not a keypad with a complex digital display like an Apollo LEM guidance computer.The oven came with a foreign plug and an adapter which had to be fitted with screws which was quite beyond my mother. As hiring an electrician would have cost more than the oven, I drove 140 miles to sort it out. However, after fitting the adapter, the plug stuck out and got in the way and looked ugly and unsafe.I fitted the proper LEGAL UK plug. The cable was rather short so had to fit a power strip to reach the socket.The Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994 say No person shall supply, offer for supply, agree to supply, expose for supply or possess for supply an electrical device unless the requirements of regulation 6, which specifies a plug conforming to BS 1362, (UK standard fused Plug) are satisfied in relation to it.Mum is delighted with the oven.
