Review: I used to use the scrunched up sheet of parchment paper to throw my loaf in the dutch oven, but now that I’ve used this, I’m not sure which I prefer. I like that I’m not wasting the parchment paper, but the sling — be careful because it needs to stay balanced. I haven’t had a problem with the dough sticking to my pot, but I’m mindful and wonder if it would; the parchment paper was a barrier to that. Now that I have these, I’ll use them, but probably would not get them again. It’s just clutter, and parchment paper was just as easy.

Review: Baking bread is one of my favorite hobbies. I love seeing a crusty loaf come out of the oven, especially when it’s cooked in a heavy dutch oven because that gives you the best flavor and texture.Sometimes though placing the loaf into the oven and pulling it out can get tricky. Your dutch oven should be heated to between 450 and 500 degrees, so you have to watch our hands when lowering your uncooked loaf into the recess.These slings help a lot with that. I have used parchment paper for this task, but that can only be used once and is not as flexible as these slings. These can be used over and over and will always be there for the next loaf.Another feature is that the slings don’t stick to the loaf like parchment paper sometimes can, like if you have an extra sticky dough from time to time.Lastly these shine when it’s time to get your loaf out of the oven. Once again they make it easy with the handles.Great for your bread baking for sure.
