Title: Within 2 month failed.
Review: At the beginning all was fine. The first month no issue. In 2nd month the scale always gone to tare but when stepped on it again error. Now nothing on the display. Purchased new batteries but nothing. Might just I was unlucky but maybe the product is not ok.

Title: Drain batteries in a week or so of light use. Low quality. Not accurate.
Review: These scales are essentially useless as they burn through a battery every week or so, just from being used once or twice a day. We thought it was a dodgy battery at first, but same problem with every one we’ve tried. Accuracy seems bad as well, with results that vary a lot day to day. They look nice but are a cheap and poorly made product. 100% avoid.

Title: Good old salter.
Review: I can’t say I was impressed by the packaging as it literally came in its own box (as you would buy off the shelf in a shop) sealed with an address label stuck on it! So everyone could see it was a salter scale, with coloured picture of it on the front and all the information etc on the back. I know we are trying to save the planet but…..Any way they are what they are. A pair of scales that you stand on to weigh. The screen is clear, and you can weigh yourself in the different weights, not that I weigh lighter in kilos then I do in pounds or stones! The only thing other than that is the colour. I am a little disappointed with the look. It does if I’m honest look a little cheap, not a nice wood effect. A bit like a cheap laminate compared to a good one or real wood floor. And also I could have done with it being a bit darker in colour but that my fault as I know bamboo is lighter than light oak. But it was the look I wanted and I can’t be bothered to send it back. I also think it will be easier to clean than my last glass one which seemed to need cleaning every five minutes. It also looks OK in the bathroom, so it will do for now. Quality wise it seem OK, I have always bought Salter scales as I feel it’s a make you can rely on. Overall, a good size, easy to use, clear screen and a reasonable price.

Title: Random re-sets and variable weight readings!
Review: The scales look good, especially on a wooden floor.However… they will re-set themselves from stones to kg with no provocation (without the scales being moved, for example) , and the readings can vary as much as 2 to 3 lbs if a reading is repeated by stepping on and off the scales! Not sure whether this is how they usually are, or to return them for replacement….

Title: When is a Salter not a Salter?
Review: I ignored the bad reviews about accuracy and battery drain because I liked the look of the blasted things so much. Terrible mistake.I cannot stress enough just how erratic these scales are. Step off them for a moment and then get back on – they will literally give you a different reading every time. And not just different by the odd hundred grams (although that would be bad enough); these bad boys have consistently given readings up to 5kgs either side of an initial reading. Utterly untrustworthy.That would be a deal breaker enough, but the battery drain issue is also, I can confirm, a very real issue too. I planned to get round this by simply removing the battery between weighings, but 3 button batteries later, barely 60 days after first use, and the thing has given up entirely – even with a new battery in. Of course it’s outside the return window, so well played there.Don’t fall for the looks – these scales are substandard in every functional way. And don’t be taken in by the trustworthy brand name – the rights to use the Salter branding were sold to another company long ago. Hence, these appear to be Chinese-made toot with a crafty rebadge.Avoid!!

Review: Ich wollte eine einfache digitale Personenwaage, die NICHT aus Sicherheitsglas ist und habe hier das perfekte Teil gefunden. Wenn man diese Waage im Bad mal aus Versehen an die Kacheln scheppert, dann platzt nicht gleich die ganze Waage. Besonders bei kleinen Kindern zu empfehlen! 😉
