SABRENT M.2 NVMe SSD to PCIe x16 Tool-Free Add-in Card (AIC) with Aluminum Heatsink, M.2 PCIe Adapter for Gen5 SSDs PCIe 5.0, Backwards Compatible with Previous PCIe Generations (EC-TFPE)
Price: £15.69
(as of Oct 09,2024 11:35:46 UTC – The SABRENT M.2 NVMe SSD to PCIe x16 Tool-Free Add-In Card (AIC) with Aluminum Heatsink (EC-TFPE) is an update to our extremely popular NVMe M.2 SSD to PCIe Card (EC-PCIE). The EC-TFPE is designed to handle the newest SSDs at Gen5 speeds and is able to keep them running cool – and quiet – with its built-in aluminum heatsink and thermal padding. The card is tool-free with an x16 physical connector for physical stability but may fit some x4/x8 PCIe slots. The NVMe PCIe adapter card connects at x4 PCIe electrically for maximum SSD performance and will work in previous PCIe generation slots at their respective speeds, as well as in future PCIe generation slots at up to 5.0 speeds.
The tool-less design allows for easy SSD installation into the add-in PCIe to NVMe card. It’s never been easier to quickly add more fast storage to your system without the worry of extra screws, extra noise, or extra steps. The m.2 PCIe adapter card supports M key NVMe SSDs and also older B+M key PCIe (AHCI/NVMe) SSDs in the M.2 2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280 form factors for maximum flexibility. This makes it simple to add another SSD to your system, whether new or old. Full NVMe support is recommended, which requires motherboard compatibility and a newer operating system. Windows, macOS, and Linux are supported with their compliant versions, and you can easily manage your drives with the appropriate software.
Add-In Fast NVMe: Our popular NVMe M.2 SSD to PCIe Card (EC-PCIE) pcie m.2 adapter just got better. This new tool-free PCIe to m.2 card (EC-TFPE) operates similarly but is able to handle the newest Gen5 SSDs. This pcie nvme adapter AIC is designed to be easy to use, but also to keep your SSDs running cool and quiet.
Maximum Performance: This nvme pcie card connects at up to x4 PCIe 5.0 for transfers speeds up to 16GBps (bidirectional) but is backward compatible with older PCIe link speeds. It is designed with an x16 connector for maximum physical stability but may fit into some x4/x8 PCIe slots. Add it and go.
M.2 For You: This NVMe m2 to PCIe adapter card is designed for NVMe M.2 M key SSDs of any generation, at their respective speeds. This includes drives in the M.2 2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280 form factors. Older B+M key PCIe (AHCI/NVMe) SSDs are also compatible. Simply install your drive and enjoy.
Cool And Quiet: The add-in NVMe adapter card includes a built-in aluminum heatsink and thermal padding to make sure your new SSD stays cool. No throttling here. And no active cooling is needed, so forget extra noise when running even the fastest SSDs with this PCI Express m.2 adapter.
It’s SABRENT: This PCIe m2 ssd adapter card will work with older systems, but please first make sure the host system is NVMe-capable. This PCIe ssd adapter card will work in any PCIe slot at its rated speed, up to a maximum 5.0. Please visit the manufacturer website to register your product and receive technical support.

Title: At last found one that works
Review: After trying numerous PCIe Adaptors due to already using my 3 m.2 slots on the motherboard I am happy to say this works a treat.Firstly the internal thermal padding should not be pre-applied so users can use an NVME drive with a heatsink already attached like my WDSN850X, You could rip it out and the drive should then fit but its then a waste. I had to go to the trouble of cloning my none heatsink WD850X which was a multi-boot drive onto the heatsink version. Once I had completed that task my WDSN850X went in nicely, nice thick thermal pad not sure if its touching the NVME drive or not but looked like it would have when closing the enclosure.Popped into my 2nd 16x slot and booted up.Speed tests were good, 6.5k read and 5.5k write, 8.5gb file copied from another NVME Drive in 10 seconds, not perfect full speed as from NVME slot but still very good and 1000 better than the last adaptor I used that only gave me 170 read speed.Looks good build quality and more importantly it works at almost top speed of the drive added, may mess around in bios and the pcie lanes to see if I can improve the speeds.Price was good too very reasonable.1st image is my boot WDSN850X HS on the motherboard m.2 slot2nd image is my WDSN850X none HS in this adaptor, very close speeds.

Title: Works as described
Review: As described.. I’m running a gen 4 nvme in it and it does bench at correct speeds. Comes with 2 thermal pads 1 for each side.. wasn’t sure of the stability of the caddy in the slot but it seems fineJust be careful to research your pci e layout to ensure u don’t drop the pci16 down to an 8 or even worse 4

Title: Great adapter for motherboards with limited connectivity
Review: This adapter lets me use a m.2 NVMe drive with a regular PCIe expansion slot. The (only) slot on my motherboard only supports a x2 connection, whereas this supports a x4 connection, for the full speed of the drive. The adapter also has a heatsink built in, with a pre-applied thermal pad, and an extra included in the box should you need it. Great build quality for a great brand.

Review: Installed in ASUS Proart Z790 creator wifi slot PCIEX16(G5)_2 with GPU in PCIEX16(G5)_1. Heatsink struggles to keep Sabrent Rocket 2TB Gen5 cool during Q32T16 test. Perhaps cooling would be improved if labels removed from SSD ? Windows 11 boots OK from Rocket. Impressive device for the price.
