Title: 1TB PS5 nvme SSD. -Solid Buy-
Review: I bought this drive like many others to drop into my ps5.When the beta firmware was released I bought a Samsung 980pro and third party heatsink which has been fine, the drive was capped at 5500MB/s as it needed to be plugged into a PC/laptop and updated/placed into turbo mode to uncap it.I was curious about trying this one though as it comes with the custom heatsink so I handed the other down and bought this one.Installing it is dead easy and should take no more then half hour (even if it’s your first time), Don’t forget to place the round metal spacer found under the screw inside the drive bay, under the SSD to prevent damage to your drive and/or console. These little fellas run hot under load. This unit is presented well, both the heatsink and drive come in one little box that fits in a letterbox, inside the box each one has its own second box, the SSD also comes in a little rose gold tin.I was disappointed to find that although they come well packed and shouldn’t be damaged in transit, the finish on my heatsink was a little shoddy, the metal on the right-hand side was exposed not a lot but enough to catch my eye I will no doubt try correct this later with a black Sharpie. None the less I was disappointed. After reading some of the reviews regarding read speeds, I was pleased to see the ps5 reported the read speed as just over 6500MB/s after format, it would of done my head in a little if this one needed hooking up to a PC to enable the advertised speed too.I’ve not registered my drive yet to clarify as I’ve been too busy testing games but it’s supposed to come with a 5 year warranty I will edit this review when I have more details.(Edit:) The warranty is 5 years or 700TB written whichever comes first, when registering it on the sabrent website you will need the model number and serial number of your drive. These can be found on a little sticker attached to each box so keep it safe. The heatsink even comes with a 2 year warranty but I’m unsure what could possibly go wrong with it.From what I’ve just seen on my orders page Amazon offer 2years support on this product too.(Edit:) Amazons 2 year support also covers drive failure (excluding accidental damage), I also received a £10 voucher for my heatsink paint finish (5* customer service as usual).I paid £159.99 for the SSD/heatsink and with the exception of the poor quality finish on the heatsink I’m happy with the purchase (so far).I moved my existing games (6or7 games) from the internal SSD to the nvme around 360GB of them and it took maybe 6/8 minutes, by the time I put my screwdriver back in my tool bag and tidied the box away for safe keeping it was finished.I’ve been playing Riders Republic, Dirt5, AC Valhalla and Far Cry 6 this afternoon and performance has been on par with the internal SSD and the 980pro.No difference really, well none the stood out to me.. smooth gameplay, fast loading times.I think that about covers everything, if I think of anything else I’ll edit it later on.Hope this review helps

Title: Super fast drive and well presented
Review: Well presented product I must sayWhen you open the outer box you are presented with a copper coloured METAL inside case and that in itself spoke volumes of the care and attention to detail on this product. The drive was easy to install within my ASROCK live Mixer Z790 motherboard and I dare say that I have thoroughly tested this drive and very few nvme products actually live up to their advertises read/write speeds. Well according to Crystal diskmark this does indeed do so and with great gusto.Forget Western Digital 850x as this runs as fast but with a decent reduction in price then Sabrent it seems have built a good name for themselvespros:Well presentedRuns blazingly fastConsthe 4tb version one has to literally pay over three x the cost of thisso may as well get 2x 2tb

Title: Great Drives for OWC Express 4M2 NVMe RAID Enclosure
Review: I recently installed an OWC Express 4M2 NVMe Thunderbolt 3 enclosure with four Crucial P3 Plus NVMe SSDs in RAID 0, the performance was nowhere near the advertised speeds of 2800MB/s on my Mac Studio M1 Max, it struggled to achieve 800MB/s read and only 500MB/s write. Turns out the P3 Plus drives use QLC NAND (quad layer), which allows manufacturers to produce large (2TB+) SSDs cheaper than TLC (tri layer) or MLC (multi layer) NAND. The P3s don’t have any dedicated DRAM cache, they use part of the drive to cache before the data is written to the disk. This means that the cache is very quickly exhausted, and the write speed drops off even more.Enter the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus, a PCIe 4 NVMe SSD using TLC technology and a large DRAM cache. With four 2TB drives in software RAID 0 (striped) the performance is excellent, like night and day compared to the Crucial drives. Read speeds actually exceed the stated speed of 2800MB/s (this is a PCIe 3×4 enclosure), and write speeds are a not-too-shabby 2300MB/s using the Amorphous DiskMark, slightly slower using the Blackmagicdesign Disk Speed Test which is more aligned with expected video performance. As I will be using the drive for editing pro video formats this is a better speed indication. The drives seem well made and are supplied in a metal box, a nice touch and feels very premium. By registering them on the Sabrent website you also get a five year warranty which is great. TBW value (Terabytes Written, an indicator of the drive’s endurance) is a reasonable 700TB per TB of capacity (compared to just 200 for the Crucial P3 Plus SSDs).Overall these are great drives and work well in TB3 enclosure. On a PCIe 4 motherboard or TB4 enclosure I imagine these will come close to their advertised speeds. I would recommend these for the OWC Express 4M2 enclosure on a Apple Silicon Mac, it’s an excellent combination.

Title: Works a treat!
Review: Not only is it simple to install and get an extra 1Tb of space in minutes but the heat sink it comes with works brilliantly! I noticed before the install that after a long gaming sesh (6-8 hrs+) the PS5 was pretty hot towards the back of the console. Now that the heat sink is installed I would say that it’s reduced the heat given off by about 80-95% depending on how long it’s been on. I’m no expert but I would imagine this will help to increase the life of our PS5 ðŸ˜

Title: Easy to install on ps5
Review: Great little upgrade for my ps5, installed and formatted the drive within about 10 minutes, fantastic upgrade and currently using just over half of it and have 50 games installed. The heatsink is very well designed and due to being slightly bigger replaces the bare metal coloured cover from the ps5. Can’t recommend it enough

Review: Upon receiving the Sabrent 2TB Rocket 4 Plus in early December 2023, I was immediately impressed by the well-packaged product. The SSD came in a tin box that was easy to open, yet provided ample protection during shipping. Installation was a breeze, and I appreciated the simplicity of the process, as I didn’t need to consult any additional directions beyond my motherboard’s manual, which led me to this purchase in the first place. That and another performance SSD Company’s issues with drive failures…Performance-wise, the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus has lived up to its specifications and exceeded my expectations. Running on a Windows 11 machine with no page file (as I don’t use it to reduce SSD wear.), I’ve noticed a significant improvement in load times for games and virtual machines. They are now faster and more responsive than ever before. In comparison to my previous setup of a RAID 0 array with four 500GB SSDs on a RAID card for buffering, the Rocket 4 Plus puts that configuration to shame with its superior speed and efficiency. I cannot wait to do some video editing on this in the future.I find the potential for future enhancements exciting. I’m eagerly anticipating the release of motherboards that can support more M.2 drives at full speed. The prospect of configuring this SSD in a RAID 0 cluster, with a controller that unleashes its full potential, is something else I’m looking forward to experiencing. For those interested in the specifics of my setup, the machine housing the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus boasts the following specifications:CPU: 11th Gen Intel® Coreâ„¢ i9-11900K @ 3.50GHz (Overclocked to 5100 MHz)Motherboard: MSI MPG Z590 GAMING PLUSRAM: 128GB Corsair DDR4-3200 (4x32GB)GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti with 16GB VRAMStorage: Sabrent SB-RKT4P-2TB NVMe SSDDisplays: Three Dell U2412M monitors (24 inches, 1920×1200 pixels)OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Professional 64-bitIn conclusion, the Sabrent 2TB Rocket 4 Plus NVMe 4.0 Gen4 PCIe M.2 Internal SSD is an exceptional storage solution that delivers on its promise of extreme performance. Whether for gaming, virtualization, or general use, this SSD is a game-changer that I highly recommend.

Review: Got a PS5 a few months ago and with the size of game files/copying entire game discs to the internal SSD my system’s capacity filled up pretty fast.Did some research on which drive to get. The Sabrent is PCie gen 4, which is what you want for fastest speed compatible with your PS5 console. The reason I settled on this M.2 drive in particular was because of the custom heatsink. It’s designed specifically to fit in the system. Proper heat dissipation is important with NVME/M.2 drives. As they get hotter they can throttle and slow down. The thermal pad was pre applied to the heatsink so once I installed the drive all I had to do is peel the plastic cover off the bottom and stick the heatsink on the top of the drive. It was very easy to install. The case the drive comes in is also really nice and I put the metal plate from my PS5 (the default M.2 cover) into the Sabrent box for safe keeping. So far the drive works great, formatting was super fast and read speed according to my console is around 6,888mb/s which coincides with the advertised speed.I have no complaints about this purchase. If you can get this particular drive on sale I’d recommend it over many other options.
