(as of Dec 05,2024 14:50:53 UTC – The SABRENT PS5 Heatsink is the only PS5 heatsink you should consider. With fantastic cooling performance and heat dissipation,
DESIGNED FOR PS5: Engineered to fit perfectly and easily into the PS5 SSD expansion slot. Installation has never been easier on the PS5.
REVOLUTIONARY COOLING: Made from High-Quality CNC’d aluminum, the Sabrent PS5 Heatsink was specifically designed to maximize cooling performance and simplify installation.
UPGRADE YOUR PS5! Rather than creating a heatsink that would only trap the heat in the metal cover, we designed a heatsink that replaces the native PS5 cover. This allows for better cooling using the native fan as well as being a larger heatsink.
INDUSTRIAL QUALITY: This SSD heatsink method also uses Sabrent’s “Sandwich Design” which ensures even pressure throughout the SSD for efficient and consistent heat transfer unlike methods used by other brands.
CONVENIENCE: Comes with an installation guide as well as screws and thermal tape for easy convenient installation.

Title: Sabrent Heatsink – Excellent product
Review: If your a PS5 owner and looking for a heatsink for your new ssd expansion then look no further. This Sabrent heatsink is a great choice! It fits the Playstation 5 expansion slot like a glove. It’s super easy to install and comes with clear instructions. Once it’s physically installed your good to go, no firmware updates or formatting needed. It works with any brand ssd that you choose to go with, so not just the Sabrent brand. So far the heatsink is doing its job perfectly. Before I got the Sabrent heatsink I was using a much cheaper type and whilst transferring a bunch of games im pretty sure it caused the ssd to overheat, initially it said 40mins left till complete the transfer, I checked back half hour later and it had changed to a crawling 99+ hours. Since getting this new heatsink installed iv tested the ssd with similar circumstances and it handled it all like a boss. Honestly, I was surprised how much of a difference it made. I am 100% recommending this product for anyone with a PS5 and planning a storage upgrade, it’s worth the little bit of extra cash to keep your ssd and PS5 running smoothly.

Title: Works Well – Beware that it doesn’t fit PS5 Pro
Review: I have used this for 18 months in the OG PS5 Disc Edition and it fitted and worked well with my WD Black 4TB SSD. The heatpad made good contact with the SSD and it looks classy. My score is for using it on the original PS5. Read other reviews for how it performs on the Slim. Now some caveats:However, I have migrated to the PS5 Pro and there are two major issues migrating the SSD and heatsink:1) The shape does not fit the SSD well properly. It will screw down, but leaves gaps.2) More importantly, I don’t believe the thermal pad now makes contact with the SSD and I get storage that overheats and data transfers slow to a crawl. I assume the ssd cavity is a little deeper.I hope Sabrent issue a new design for the PS5 Pro, and I will have to resort to a different solution in the meantime.

Title: Easy to install heatsink that massively improves PS5 SSD cooling
Review: This heatsink was very easy to install. My Netac SSD came with a heat-spreader which I installed when I put it in the PS5, but it was throttling when doing big transfers, so I thought a heat sink would be useful. I wanted one that would conduct heat out of the bay, as the standard metal cover looks like it would reflect radiant heat from a heatsink back into the bay. This heatsink was reviewed well and great value at the time I ordered. Installation was very straightforward – once the SSD is in place, remove the standard bay cover and put this one in its place, remembering to remove the plastic covering from the thermal pad as you do so. I did a big file transfer (400Gb) immediately after install and it held a higher speed for longer than before. The speed dropped a little then picked back up, which might have been the thermal pad melting to the right shape to conduct heat optimally. PS4 and PS5 games play super smoothly from the SSD and I would recommend this SSD highly as it is great value and improves on the Sony factory cooling design.NB I didn’t use the included screwdriver as it looked very low quality.

Title: It does what heatsinks are supposed to do..
Review: Can’t say for sure how effective this is at dissipating heat as I’ve not really done enough testing, but it seems to be decent, it would be more effective if you also use a fan. When I first got my nvme ssd, I ran a benchmark on it and it reached over 80c during the testing, I updated the drivers which dropped this temp to a peak of 68c. So before anything, be sure to check that your ssd’s are running the latest firmware & have the latest drivers installed. After insalling this heatsink (should note that this is a system running with no fans):Idle temp with no applications straining the drive: 44cPeak temp during read benchmark: 55c (increase of 8c starting from 47c)Peak temp during write benchmark: 57c (increase of 5c starting from 52c after read test)For comparison, here are stats from my other nvme drive using my mobo’s default heatsink (which is just a thick alumium plate, should also note this drive isn’t running the OS so it’s naturally a bit cooler than the above):Idle temp with no applications: 38cPeak temp during read benchmark: 51c (increase of 13c starting from 38c)Peak temp during write benchmark: 57c (increase of 9c starting from 48c after read test)So I would say this Sabrent heatsink is marginally better than the heatsink provided with my mobo, though I think any heatsink at all would provide somewhat similar results but I decided to buy this one because of the high build quality, they certainly haven’t cheaped out on materials. Temps ranging from 50c – 60c are ideal as you don’t want the flash chips getting too cold.Installation was very simple, 5 phillips screws are provided – 4 for attaching the heatsink to the tray, and 1 for securing to the mobo. A spare thermal tape is provided for if you have a single-sided drive, be sure to remove the plastic layer from both sides of tape to expose the adhesive. Aligning the drive with the tray is simple as you just need to ensure the notch for the mobo screw is flush with the similar notch on the drive.

Title: A must for PS5
Review: If you’ve hit the storage issue that PS5’s have (not enough of it for these HUGE games) then you’d have bought a NVMe SSD drive. If your SSD doesn’t come with a built in heatsink, then you NEED this, work like magic, easy to install and works very efficiently… Ran the PS5 continuously over a 38hr gaming marathon playing demanding AAA titles from SSD and the temperature didn’t spike at all.If you have an SSD, you NEED this.

Title: It’s working great in my PS5
Review: I like the way it’s so easy to install and makes it much easier to find a SSD for my PS5, as I don’t have to worry about whether the heat sink will fit.

Review: Added the Sabrent heatsink to a new Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe m.2 2TB drive on my ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero motherboard. Very high quality craftsmanship, looks great and has doesn’t feel cheap. Very easy to install.Performance – I ran benchmarks prior to installing and then after, the m.2 drive saw a decrease of 5* C (average). This is a 13% decrease in temp for the Samsung NVMe m.2 drive, no other changes made to the PC’s airflow. Very please with the improved cooling. As others mentioned, depending on PCIe slots, it can be a tight fit. It barely cleared the latches for the last slot on my mobo. The m.2 slot on the ASUS CH7 is directly underneath the graphic card as well. While I had clearance, a thicker GPU might cause issues. Lastly, since my mobo has the m.2 underneath the GPU, I can’t visually see the new heatsink. That’s due to layout of the ASUS mobo, not the heatsink. Not a big deal, I know it’s working due to my test pulls.
