These cutting boards are made in Japan by Parker Asahi. Parker Asahi was the first to develop synthetic rubber cutting boards in 1965.
By focusing on the material “synthetic rubber”, we have achieved a pleasant feel similar to wood. Synthetic rubber does not absorb water so it dries quickly. With high durability and stability, these cutting boards can be used for many years and support a sustainable life style.
The lifespan varies greatly depending on usage frequency, conditions, and care, so it is not specified. According to the manufacturer (Parker Asahi), the typical lifespan is about 10 years. However, some sushi restaurants have used it for 40 years, and some households for over 35 years.
For oil stains, use a brush or scouring pad with a mild detergent, then rinse thoroughly and let it dry. When sterilizing with boiling water, pour it evenly to prevent warping. Kitchen bleach (such as Clorox or Lysol) can also be used.
WARNING: Be very careful not to burn yourself when using boiling water.
The surface can be polished with commercially available abrasive scouring pads. Use #100 waterproof sandpaper while applying water for polishing.
Then clean with a cleanser and use the rough side of a sponge to restore the surface to near-original condition.

Title: The best chopping board I’ve bought
Review: After trying all manner of chopping boards, including an expensive Japanese hinoki wood option, this one is by far the best – grips the counter, firm enough to be decently supportive, robust enough not to get shredded, and yet soft enough not to blunt sharp knives. Also easy to clean/dry. Wish I’d bought one years ago.

Review: If I had it to do over again, I’d go for the Large, not the Medium sized board. I may make the M my motorcycle camping board and get a Large for small jobs around the house.I will definitely be purchasing the XL 600X300X50mm Asahi Pro cutting board as my main board after using this one for a couple of weeks. (Too bad Amazon doesn’t have any sellers that have this board available.)After a LOT of cutting on this board with several knives, including my Shibata Kotetsu Gyuto there is practically zero signs of wear. The “thud” when cutting through carrots and parsnips is extremely satisfying and I’ve detected zero dulling of the blade on my knives. No warping evident, but I do store it flat after drying, as recommended for these thinner, somewhat flexible boards.I can certainly recommend this cutting board for high-end knives if you are looking for a small, lightweight cutting board.Overall, I like this board far more than I thought I would.

Review: I have been using this cut board for a week now. My impression is easy to cut since the knife doesn’t bounce after cutting because it is made of rubber. Also it is easy to clean up, quick to dry after wash, so easy to maintain. I can tell the board is made of high quality rubber, and it will last long. This is relatively small, so it is more suitable for a single life than family.
