Title: It will not fit a 40 mm Tube (36 mm Max)
Review: Amazon DescriptionRIDGID 29983 Model 223S Stainless Steel Pipe Reamer, 1/4-inch to 1-1/4-inch Inner/Outer ReamerPipe reamer has a 1/4-inch to 1-1/4-inch (6 mm to 40 mm) outside diameter capacityHow can Amazon get everything wrong with this product apart from the manufacturer’s name and model number.I am a retired Design Engineer and amazed that no one, has so far picked up the errors in the items description. To start with, this item is a metric tool and they should have kept the details in millimetres, as RIGID do on theirwebsite. It would appear that no one at Amazon is familiar with metric dimensions, probably due to their American origins. But to try describing the item in imperial dimensions and fractions at that, is a joke. The decimal conversion factor is simply 25.4 ie 1 inch x 25.4 = mm exactly. The reciprocal of this is 0.03937007874015748031496062992126 ie1 mm / 0.03937008 (rounded off) = 1 inch approxApplying these factors to Amazons description gives the following resultsPipe reamer has a 1/4-inch (0.25 inch, correct so far) to 1-1/4-inch (1.25 inch, where did they get that from)(1.25 x 25.4 = 31.75 mm) (6 mm to 40 mm) outside diameter capacity (6 x 0.03937008 = 0.2362205 inches)I suppose that is near enough 0.250 inches, but 31.75 mm is a long way off 40 mm.To compound all of this, if you select the middle image (the one with the item on its side) to the left of theproduct description and zoom in on the right-hand end, you can see that the size is clearly marked asOD 36 mm.I purchased this item to ream the inside of a 40 mm O/D Stainless Steel Tube. It obviously would not fit.The items description on the RIGID website is:-Pipe reamer has a 0.236 inch to 2.362 inch (6 mm to 36 mm) outside diameter capacity

Title: Not suitable for smaller diameter pipes Review: This product is not very good for smaller diameter piping as the point is not small (sharp) enough when used after a proper pipe cutting tool that displaces the material internally.

Review: I know what you’re thinking… How can this tiny little reaming tool be worth approx. $40.00.Before I began using these, I thought the same but several plumbers and electrician friends let me try theirs and I was instantly sold! It’s really not until you look closely inside this reamer that you see an extremely high-tech, very highly detail reaming system, something looking almost sci-fi.The many sharp ribs cut and smooth with very little effort and because they fill the tube, you don’t need to spin the reamer completely around the pipe. It really does bevel an chamfer with little effort. If you watch YouTube plumbing videos as most guys do, you’ll see this Ridgid tool in most of them.Great tool, absolutely worth the cost. Hope to have this for many years.

Review: Reaming made very easy with a quality Ridgid product! I used it on 3/4″ and 1/2″ copper pipe and it quickly removes any burrs which may cause flow turbulence. Use one side of the tool to quickly do the inside and the other end of the tool for the outside of the piece.
