Title: No holes to drill through walls!
Review: Pleasantly surprised by the quality of these cameras, especially given the price. really didn’t want to start drilling holes as my house is quite a modern design and around the door area it is composed entirely of glass cubes/bricks as on picture. So going for a wire-free solution I had previously bought a Reolink Argus 2 but never got around to putting it up. The bits and pieces for that are all over the place so decided to buy the Eco cameras.Plus side – easy to set up, download Reolink app, scan a barcode on the camera, then let the camera scan a barcode on the phone, enter wifi details and that’s about it for basic use. I’ve configured it so it sends an email to me if it detects movement by my front door. I’m not too worried about being broken into but I also don’t want anyone lurking around there! If movement is detected my phone alarms and if I really was too lazy to get out of bed and answer the door we could hold a conversation via phone and camera. In fairness to me it is a townhouse and being on the top floor I risk breaking my neck trying to run down a flight of stairs, across a landing, and down another flight before the person at the door has gone. I’ve set it up to send an email picture of any “visitors” but the video is also stored on the memory card in the camera (not included in package) and can be viewed on windows/mac client or android/ipad. Night vision certainly adequate as can be seen in pic. In fact this is the only time a picture has been taken and I don’t know what movement there was. You can alter the PIR sensitivity if too many false alarms are received. Not so good points – its winter and not sunny – the solar panel is not supplying enough current to keep the camera charged. Looks like I might just have to stick a power bank in the back of the camera once a month or so and top it up to 100% while its so dull outside. Last year’s sunny weather kept my Argus 2 charged without a problem. Sometimes the alarm sounds 5 minutes after I’ve already answered the door! Maybe have a doorbell as well. The camera took footage of the delivery man at the door, I just wasn’t alerted, happens about 10% of the time, of course it could be something to do with my phone. No cloud service in the UK yet. Its available in the US, Australia and New Zealand, Reolink say it will be here soon. The other pic is the Windows client where you can several cameras at once. Time I did some gardening! In conclusion, pretty good performance for the price. It does what I want it to do, I’ve not had to drill holes through my glass bricks, and in the summer I’m sure the solar panel will be adequate. Topping the battery up once a month isn’t too much of a drama. Of course I’ve been playing around with it as its a new gadget, if I leave well alone the battery should last longer! For this price you can’t go wrong, just remember it connects on 2.4 GHz, I had to split the signal from my sky router so 5GHz and 2.4GHz were separated while I installed the camera, then joined the signals back up again on the sky router settings page. A little bit of technical knowledge but I’m no expert and managed it. Would definitely recommend.

Title: Everything I’d hoped for and more!
Review: Right out of the box you could feel that this was a quality product. Setup was easy and the app that supports the camera is full featured, much better than other manufacturers offerings. Operation of the camera has been flawless and the images that I’ve captured are excellent.I primarily bought this camera to capture the wildlife that visits my garden each night. I mounted the camera on a post and also have the solar charger mounted to the same post. The solar charger works very well in sunny weather, but obviously not so well in dull conditions, but it still provides enough charge that I never have to take the unit down for recharging.I needed to talk to customer support as part of my experience and I was amazed and delighted by their attentiveness to my query. I haven’t experienced such good customer service for many. many years. You can tell they care about their customer base and their products. You can probably tell by my review that I’m delighted with my purchase, it may have cost slightly more than other cameras I’ve owned in the past, but that little extra expenditure was well worth it. No hesitation in recommending their products. (I know this is a very positive review, but it’s a honest review, I did not receive any inducements to write it, I just believe praise should be given when it is due)

Title: Very good camera.
Review: I had hopes for this camera. Unfortunately, it did not perform as expected. The problem for me is that I am unable to access the camera very easily through the app. I installed the camera to view my back garden but when I try ‘live view’ I have so much difficulty connecting to the camera. It can take several attempts to connect to the camera and even then, the stream is very uneven, often cutting out altogether. Even trying to view captured images/video is nigh on impossible because of the connection issue. The wifi signal in the rear of my house is very strong. However, I decided to take the camera indoors and place it next to the router to maximise the signal. Unfortunately this made no difference whatsoever so I have come to the conclusion it is a software or hardware problem and not my wifi signal. On the plus side, the images are clear in daylight and acceptable at night but this is to be expected due to the limitations of the technology. Also, motion detection is very good. If only the connection between the app and the camera was much more reliable, this would fit my needs perfectly. Reluctantly, I have no option but to return the camera for a refund..Update – I’ve revised this rating up to four stars. Before returning the camera I decided to stick with it for a few days. For some reason it just seemed to work properly. All of the connection problems I had previously just didn’t occur again and it has worked as expected. Needless to say I kept it and am pleased with it’s performance and can now recommend it.

Review: Giving this a 3 star as it is a nice camera and creates good video and snapshots but mine failed after six months… I did not contact the seller to get a new one I simply returned it to Amazon and asked for a refund. Although as I do like the camera I bought a new one and hopefully it will last longer than six months. Oh and also watch the bracket do not fully unscrew it otherwise it will be very difficult to get back together. I discovered that when trying to put the new camera back up.
