Phox is a multi-award winning water filtration brand from Glasgow, Scotland. Born in 2018 with a vision of taking on the bottled water industry by providing beautiful hydration products that don’t harm the environment.
Water filtration is key to overcoming the growth of bottled water, but our industry has it’s own environmental problems with millions of plastic cartridges going to landfill each year.

Where is the product made?
To reduce our carbon footprint, we focused on finding UK companies to supply as many raw materials as possible. The manufacturing, packaging and design of the Compatible is all done within a 30 mile radius of our office in Glasgow.
How long does the filter last?
Each filter refill is designed to last 200 litres (44 gallons) or 45 days.
How will I know when to replace the filter?
Each 45 day pack is built to last 45 days or 200L, whichever comes first. Use our app or sign up for email notifications to keep note of when to replace the granules

As we only have to send the filtration granules, they fit through the letterbox.

Title: Real water drinkers will know the difference
Review: Really happy with my purchase. Comes well packaged and is of good quality. I feel it’s good/better value for money in comparison to the Brits+ filters and better for the environment. The filter lasts longer than the standard Brita filter and in terms of filter and taste, so much better! I do feel it removes more chemicals and impurities than previous filters and therefore our tap water tastes so much purer. Due to that it’s good value for money and I will continue to buy the refill packets.

Title: For the earth conscious folks out there, that want clean filtered water
Review: We recieved this today and followed the instructions to get the cartridge filled and fitted into our Aquaphor filter jug, it replaced the MAXFOR+ cartridge that came with our jug (which we have been very happy with, it lasted a long time (3 months), however we always do what we can to avoid single use plastics (which was why we chose to use a water filter rather than buying bottled water in the first place), whilst one filter cartrige one every three month did feel better, slinging away a white plastic cartridge still didnt feel right. I researched every refillable version on the market and the Phox filter deffo shone out as the best to me especially as its a UK company, and the refills didn’t have any casing around them, you get recyclable packet containing the media which you simply pour in, the media itself needs replacing less frequently than the competitors too.Its super easy, wash your refillable cartridge add the packet of media, put in the carbon felt disc. Soak the cartridge for just 6 minutes, fill the jug twice and let it filter – discard the first two jug fulls (I watered my plants with this so not to waste water – and you are good to go. This cartridge fits snugly in our jug therefore whilst tipping the jug to fill our water dispenser fitted in our fridge door, the cartridge does not dislodge. It does take a little longer to filter than the Maxfor cartridge but this just gives me further peace of mind. on testing the water with my aquarium kit I can conclude it does what it states. We opted for the Alkaline version as I’m a firm believer in our bodies need for magnesium and such.I appleade Phox for a innovative product, offered at a reasonable price.

Title: Reduce your plastic waste while using one of the top filters in the market.
Review: I have been waiting for years to a real solution to single use plastic cartridges for Britta. The form factor of their jugs is far more convenient compared to other companies, including Phox, but they are extremely wasteful and I did not want to use them, till now.The plastic cartridge from Phox is a bit flimsy and feels like it is made by some thinner, softer plastic compound, but fits tightly at my Britta and does the job.Now, to the eco-friendliness of Phox filtration. The granules that do the filtration are not compostible, but at least come in 100% compostable paper bags, unlike other similar products. By the looks of it there is no small letters with the sustainability of the package and no “green-washing” tricks here to throw you off. Phox are also trying to reduce carbon emissions by producing as much of this product as possible locally in Scotland. Again, this sounds like a much more genuine approach than other questionable or even untraceable carbon-negating actions I have seen lately, like planting some trees somewhere in the world and calling it a day.It may be self explanatory, but I have to mention that Phox-filtrated water tastes different to what Britta filtration does, but that is no problem for me. Both are perfectly fine for brewing amazing cups of coffee and keeping my kettle free from limescale. An extra point for Phox is that they last 50% longer than Britta.In conclusion, this form of water filtration works perfect and really helps with plastic pollution. If you have a compatible Britta lying around, you might as well try it and see for yourself.

Title: So far so good! Much better than disposable filters
Review: Super easy to install, and seems to be working fine so far. We’ve had this in for about 3 weeks now without issues. So much better than the disposable ones full of plastic, and also works out cheaper in the long run!

Review: I really do hate to be a killjoy, just doing this for the customer & for the company to perhaps make a better one, as it could work if done differently.Their GLASS Phox jug is the best, and worth every penny. Don’t let this one put you off the company.This Brita compatible one IS still a bit better than Brita, but not much.I bought this not wanting to waste my Brita jug after giving my Phox 2.2 litre to my daughter, who was also greatly impressed, but this turned out to be a waste of money.My kettle scaling in my hard water area is a good indicator of effectiveness, and this just doesn’t keep it limescale free for more than a couple of boils after replacing the cartridge contents.It’s not because of the carbon granules either – those work really well. It’s the design.Crappy (bendy, but also brittle, probably also very easily broken) plastic, with no seal to prevent leakage of unfiltered water.It should be hard plastic, that is sealed in place to enable no leaking over the edges.Their glass Phox 2.2 litre jug is perfectly tight, sealed, and fantastically well made. I’m honestly so impressed by how well it works and for how long, (and pissed off, after finding out how many years I’ve wasted buying Brita)!I just bought my second one yesterday to replace what I gifted.If you want my advice, don’t bother trying to salvage your plastic Brita with this compatible cartridge, – get a better quality, more effective, and MUCH longer lasting Phox 2.2l with the CLEAN cartridge (which is also a nicer design) – if you have hard water you’ll be amazed at how much cleaner it tastes and feels after filtering properly. I would never be without mine now.
