Title: Value for Money
Review: I have to say for the price I am really impressed with the camera. Great quality picture, the built in mic does the job well and the AI functionality is great. I’d advise pairing it with a camera manager app to get the full benefit from it. Something like Camo Studio. My only grip (and it really only affects me as my TV has to move occasionally for loft access) is that it doesn’t stick to anything. The mounting bracket it great for placing it on the tv but with mine moving from time to time it tends to fall off. Still would recommend buying though.

Title: Excellent picture at 1080p resolution
Review: The Okiolabs 4K Webcam can either sit on top of your monitor or it can be attached to the small tripod which is included in the package. The clip for attaching it to the monitor has some soft padding for protection.The Webcam has a very limited amount of horizontal and vertical movement when using the attached clip but it can be rotated 360 degrees.The Webcam also has a privacy shutter and two forward facing microphones. There is an inline switch quite close to the Webcam for selecting the AI tracking function, when activated, the front facing LED changes colour from green to blue.When I first connected this Webcam, I was extremely impressed by the clarity of the picture, although there is a lot of smoothing being applied on the default setting but this can be altered using the sharpness slider in either the Webcam control panel, which can be downloaded from Okiolab’s website, or in the application that you are using, in my case that was OBS studio.The picture was great regardless of whether I was in a room illuminated by an 800 Lumens LED bulb or in a room illuminated by sunlight.I was only capturing at full HD resolution (1080p) though, when I increased the resolution to 4K, there was noticeable noise present. Regardless of resolution, the Webcam will only capture at a maximum of 30 fps.The AI function will only work if you set the resolution to 1080p and the frame rate to 30 fps in OBS studio. It works quite well, it will slowly zoom in or out and pan left or right in order to keep yourself and others in the centre of the screen.For me, the sound is a disappointment, I had to turn the gain up in order for it to capture my voice but in doing so, the noise level goes up, you may be able to hear the background hiss in the uploaded video sample.I am quiet spoken, but I did raise my voice for testing purposes, I tried using a Windows 7 desktop PC and a Windows 10 laptop but the results were the same.The Webcam is quite expensive and they have done an excellent job with the picture quality, if only they had done the same with the sound, I would have rated it higher.

Review: Jump to 5.53min in uploaded video to see actual footage and sound from this webcam.This came well packaged in a retail box and inside you get the Webcam with inline on/off switch, Extendable Fixed-Leg Tripod, USB-A to USB-C Adapter and Instructions.This is a plug & play device, so no software is need and I plugged it into my Windows 10 desktop PC, and it worked fine with the Windows camera software.Being a 4K webcam, the image and detail is pretty good, and it has the added benefit of shooting still at 8.3MP vs 1080p webcams at around 2MP. The inline switch allows you to access the AI Framing which works very much like a zoom lens. With this off, you are set back from the camera due to the 120-degree wide angle. With it on, you are much closer to the camera, and it will track you. It will automatically pan & zoom to keep you in the frame.There is a small LED on the left of the lens, and this indicates whether AI Framing is On/Camera On (Blue), AI Framing is Off/Camera On (Green) and Ai Framing Off/Camera Off (No Light).The mic sound was fine. It is not as though I am going to be singing down it. My voice was clear and audible.I did try the webcam with my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ and it worked really well with that to. Although the supplied USB-A to USB-C adapter was not case friendly.One thing I was pleased to see when opening the box was that this came with a proper tripod, not one of those bendy leg ones, and the legs are extendableFor privacy purposes, there is a sliding cover to go over the lens when it is not in use. This is easier to use when mounted on the tripod, than over the top of a monitor.All my initial testing was done with the Windows 10 camera app, but you can also download the Okiolabs Camera Control software from their website. This enables you to mirror directions, adjust exposure, white balance, focus, gain, colour saturation, brightness, contrast, sharpness, and Hue. You can also set-up profiles, maybe for different apps. If you are going to be using the camera in 1080p without the AI Framing, you can adjust the zoom in or out. Handy given the 120-degree wide-angle lens. What is handy is that you can have the Windows camera app running at the same time as the camera control app, so you can see what effect it is having. You can always opt to see a preview in the Okiolabs software instead.Overall, I am suitably impressed with the video quality and the sound quality is decent enough. The one thing I am unable to comment on is the medium to long-term reliability.I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.NB. Title: Great… when it works
Review: The camera is great …. when it works. I have it permanently connected to my iMAC, and after a while, it seems to simply loose the connection. The device is still plugged in however the iMAC does not see it. I have to unplug and replug the camera in for it to appear again. I have tried it in all 4 of the usb sports at the back of my iMAC and the same thing happens no matter what port it is connected to. Incredibly frustrating for a product that cost £100

Review: 8 months ago I bought this webcam for home use. With need to return to office and perform webcam calls, I decided to by a different brand that was “more expensive” thinking that paying more meant more quality. I’m talking about about $10 ~ $15 more after Black Friday discounts. I was appalled to see Okiolabs perform much more better in picture clarity. The contrast of black was better! The details were better. The more expensive 4K webcam I bought felt more like a 720p or worse. Even with the brightest settings on the settings it was no help.This camera on the other hand has great picture quality with default settings and lighting.AI Frame Tracking.It’s graceful and natural. Not robotic and not too slow either. The panning feels very professional. I compare this to the “more experience” one I got. That just zaps around like it was “Terminator 1”. It wasn’t smooth. I love Okiolabs’ implementation.Microphone:I can’t comment much, because I barely use the built-in mic. I mostly use headset. But I expect very decent quality from it too.Bottom line, I’m returning the expensive “junk” and getting another 1. Too bad I missed out on the Black Friday discounts on this one.Highly recommend!
