Review: This keyboard is quite impressive, featuring a built-in display that shows the time and status of the keyboard. The LED lighting effect is cool, but I’ve turned it off for now. The keyboard’s feel is pleasant, and the sound is quieter compared to some other keyboards I’ve used. I genuinely enjoy mechanical keyboards, and I appreciate the tactile feedback of this one. However, the only downside is that the battery life doesn’t last as long as my other keyboards.

Review: Well, folks, it’s official—I’m a mechanical keyboard nerd now! And let me tell you, the Vibe99 Wireless Gaming Keyboard deserves ALL my newfound enthusiasm:● The sleek design and RGB lighting are so freaking pretty. Everyone who sees this keyboard is just as dazzled as I was. Honestly even more impressive in person. That said, you can change the color(s)/brighness however you wish, or even turn it off.● The Vibe99 keyboard uses linear CreamMint switches, and I feel like they’re a perfect middle ground for newbies like me—quiet enough to avoid side-eye from the cat 😼, but still delightfully clicky for satisfying feedback. They don’t require much force to press, but are firm enough to avoid accidental presses.● Not just a pretty face! It doesn’t feel like a toy. The built in battery and construction add a bit of heft, so it just feels balanced, super solid and well-made.● This keyboard is hotswappable, which means you can swap out the switches and keycaps as you wish. There are so many cool colors and styles to choose from!âžž Newbie note: The stock keycap letters don’t glow in the dark like you might be used to. If you want, you can buy “shine-through” keycaps though. This keyboard uses south-facing LEDs, and ‘everyone’ will tell you that you can only use side-printed styles for them. But as you can see in my pic, it’s still totally usable with with top-printed styles!I tested out shine-through keycaps that are top-printed, along with both the stock switches and two brands of clear switches. While clear switches definitely let more light through, I found the CreamMint switches still allow plenty of glow. And they just feel so much nicer to type on, it’s worth the slight tradeoff in brightness. (Check out my pic to see the difference. The stock switches have a slight minty tone, but it’s really only noticeable with white or yellow LED color schemes.)Considerations:● The 1-inch screen is a small but cool, displaying battery life and even custom GIFs. However, it showed the wrong time when I turned it on, and it took me forever to figure out how to change it. In case you have the same issue:1. First, search online for “MechLands Vibe99 Driver”. It’s on the company’s official site.2. Download, install, and open the program.3. Use the included USB cord to plug it in your computer, and toggle the back of the keyboard to USB mode.4. Select the ‘TFT Screen’ tab (5th tab down on the left) and click the ‘Time Syns’ button on the lower right. Totally intuitive amirite? 😅Also, the driver software isn’t Mac-friendly, but that’s par for the course with most mechanical keyboards. You can still use the keyboard with a Mac, but you’ll need to use a Windows computer for any customizations. Alternately, there are app for Mac that can run Windows programs.Small pet peeves:- The manual is tiny and sparse; I had to figure out some things by myself (such as the aforementioned clock🤪).- The toggle for switching between 2.4GHz, USB, and Bluetooth is a bit too subtle—it could use more tactile feedback.Overall, the Vibe99 strikes the perfect balance for newbies and casual enthusiasts. It’s packed with premium features but avoids being overly intimidating. If you’re ready to dive into the world of mechanical keyboards, this is a fantastic place to start.TL;DR: A gorgeous, feature-packed keyboard that’s perfect for newbies and satisfying for seasoned typists alike. The typing experience is in a Goldilocks zone, and the customization options are endless. Setup quirks and software limitations (especially for Mac users) exist, but the joy of typing on this beauty more than makes up for it.

Review: I am a Senior Software Engineer. As you can imagine I do a lot of typing. This keyboard could easily be my new favorite keyboard. This keyboard performs!So I collect keyboards, mainly mechanical keyboards. I have a schedule where I rotate through each of my keyboards on a weekly basis. Each week I use a different keyboard. I have 12 keyboards total. All mechanical but one. So saying this MechLands Vibe99 could easily be my new favorite keyboards says a lot.This is a well build keyboard. I like a keyboard that has a little heft and this one for sure has some heft. It may be the heaviest keyboard I own. Heft tells be that it is a well built keyboard. And with it being wireless and chargeable it tells me that is has good quality batteries inside.I absolutely love the switches that are in this keyboard. The switches are Mechland’s Creammint. Honestly, they are the best feeling switches I have ever used. The typing pressure is perfect. All of my other keyboards have red, blue, yellow, and silver switches. The switches in this keyboard are for sure creamy.This keyboard also has 6-layers of various padding. The 6 layers are: PC Plate, Poron Sandwich Foam, IXPE Switch Pad, PET Sound Enhancement Pad, Poron Foam, and Bottom Silicone Pad. All of these layers, along with the Creammint switches, make this keyboard feel and sound amazing. The feel and sound of this keyboard is dreamy. Totally love it.This keyboard also has RGB backlighting. It offers 16.8M RGB Backlighting, 20 Effect, and 9 Colors. To me, RGB backlighting is the least important feature in a keyboard. It does add a nice look to the keyboard. Performance is more important to me.This keyboard also has another feature that none of my other keyboards have. This keyboard has a 1.06″ TFT Interactive Screen. This screen is kind of a cool feature. It tells you the date and time, battery level, what kind of connection is being used, Num Lock, and Caps Lock. You can also use the screen to make keyboard settings such as the RGB effects and colors. The screen can also be programmed using software which can be downloaded from the MechLands web site. In order to change the date and time, the software must be used.Other wireless keyboards I have used seem to go to sleep after a certain amount of time. If the keyboard goes to sleep you have to press a key to wake it up or else you will miss the first character typed. With this keyboard it does goes to sleep but it is not necessary to press a key before you start typing. I really like this feature.My only slight concern about this keyboard is the battery life. It seems to me that the battery does not last as long it should. It is advertised to have a 4000mAh battery in it. I have some other non-mechanical wireless keyboards and the batteries last for what seems like forever. This keyboard has the RGB lighting and the little screen which I would think would not draw that much juice from the battery. As I mentioned, this keyboard does not seem to go 100% to sleep; which I like. I am probably just being picky. The battery does last a reasonable amount of time. You can always plug it into a USB port if it gets low on battery.At the time of this review, this MechLands Vibe99 Wireless Gaming Keyboard had a List Price of $92.99. There was a Black Friday Deal on the keyboard for 29% off the list price making the total cost $66.39. I would for sure consider this keyboard a quality high end keyboard. There is a reason this mechanical keyboard snob is calling this keyboard my new favorite keyboard. It is amazing!! I could say more regarding this keyboard but I think you get the point.
