Title: Usual great Makita quality
Review: Simple no nonsense Hammer drill at a good price. No key chuck a bit questionable in operation though.Subsequent long term use shows the chuck has a habit of slipping and is a poor choice.Have now replaced with a genuine Makita keyed chuck for about 20 quid.

Title: Power with wire attached.
Review: Excellent drill – very powerful – used to drill 70mm hole in oak – perfect – 18v cordless didn’t have the power but this one does. Do shop around for better deals – even within Amazon. There are better deals for the same drill but with extras – case, drills, bits etc. I was just too impatient to search thoroughly.

Title: No plastic storage box
Review: Feels like a nice sturdy little machine. Bought to sit between my cordless & the brute of an SDS. Only gripe so far – only a cardboard box to keep it in.Update July 2016. Having used this just once previously to drill a small hole as a test (before writing a review) when I used it again to drill 4 more holes the chuck jammed wide open. Sent back to Makita on 4 July (by courier – my expense) it return on 6 July fitted with anew chuck, no charge. OK, it shouldn’t have failed but that really is good service.

Title: If you dont need an sds buy this, its cheaper and great…!
Review: I really like this drill, don’t buy it for screwing (use a cordless) but for drilling its amazing. Non hammer will chew through brick. Its not an sds but its bloody good value. I use this to drill holes and the cordless to screw.

Title: CHUCK NOT GREAT
Review: Drill is ok but im no fan of twist lock chucks as no matter how hard you tighten them by hand the drill bit always slips back into the chuck when applying any kind of pressure when drilling, which makes the hammer function almost useless unless you have a long drill bit (at least 150mm long), which most arent. If you buy this drill also buy a key chuck to replace the original or long drill bits, either that or give this drill a miss.

Review: Following light DIY use, the drill turned out to be poop. The chuck bearing has suffucient play so as to make the drill bit wobble in a circle. This makes it hard to start drilling in a set postion.Seller 5 stars, drill 1 starAvoid,

Title: Very powerful excellent value for a makita power drill.
Review: Wanted to order a good power drill for my partner, as he’s always wanted a makita as he used to use one in his work. He said it never let him down.
