Review: I’ve ordered two of these angle grinders, from separate suppliers not from Amazon, because of availability when I needed it in a hurry, no fault of Amazon’s.The guard supplied with the grinder doesn’t fit the machine, and Makita won’t acknowledge it. My second supplier has spoken with Makita and they insist it is the correct guard, but it isn’t; Makita were only interested in it being the correct width (135mm at longest dimension), not it being the wrong guard. It can’t be fitted to the machine which is useless as supplied. Compare the photograph I’ve taken of the guard supplied, and the one illustrated in the product brochure on Makita’s website, at http://icmsmakita.eu/cms/custom/uk/user_manual/GA4034_GA4534_GA5034_C227.pdf, which is the same as the one shown in the booklet which came with the machine. This, and my photo, show the guard from underneath. In the instructions you’ll see a lever (a clamp) on the guard, but there’s no lever on it. Without that lever clamping mechanism it’s impossible to widen the band sufficiently to get the guard over the spindle and onto the bearing box. The only other moving part on the guard is the screw mechanism seen top centre-left in the photo; fully loosening that doesn’t loosen the guard sufficiently to fit it to the grinder.It may be that this product is produced in various locations and I’ve been unlucky in getting two from the same source where mistakes have been made, but Makita’s refusal to acknowledge the mistake and supply the correct part, has convinced me not to buy any more of their products, although I have a perfectly working Makita hammer drill (bought from Amazon).It’s a shame, because I like the size and light weight of it – I’m female, not a big hairy professional workman – and for the limited use I’ll have for it, it’s perfectly adequate. As far as I’m concerned, Makita’s refusal even to consider that they’ve made a provable mistake warns me off their company permanently, their customer service sucks. I used to run my own successful business, it was successful because customer service was great! If I have to spend more money for an equivalent product I’d expect Makita to compensate me the difference, but I won’t hold my breath.I’ve posted this here because these models sell well and I’m sharing my experience, I just want to reiterate that I bought my two from other suppliers, not Amazon. La machine dispose d’une puissance suffisante pour les usages courants. Pour les gros travaux il vaut mieux choisir des modèles disposant de 200 à 400W en plus. Son poids faible et sa bonne tenue rendent cet outil maniable et peu fatiguant
