What is Putty Butyl Tape?
LLPT’s putty butyl tape is a high quality, preformed, watertight, extruded putty, rubber-based sealant that’s primary purpose is sealing, leak-openings, roofs, windows, plumbing and weatherproofing joints. Permanently adheres to all clean and dry metal, glass, plastic and wood surfaces. It does not shrink, crack, dry out, easy to work with and remains permanently flexible.
However, it isn’t uncommon to see it applied as a moisture gasket to temporarily block off roof leaks. Much like butyl tape, this is essentially a pliable putty roll with removable backing.
IMPORTANT NOTES: 
It would make your installation much easier if you can put the putty tape in refrigerator for about 1 hours when the room material is higher than 62 F.
