Title: Superb performance and incredible value
Review: I bought this 4G router as an experiment. I need to use 4G broadband in my rural location as BT won’t provide anything above 500k without me lining their pockets with several thousand pounds, so mobile broadband seemed to be the way to go.I have been running a Three sim card and Huawei router with external antenna for 2 years, with typically 4 to 5mb download and 1 to 2mb up. This was an 8 fold increase on my BT telephone line for about the same price! However as I investigated it, it was looking like an external modem – such as this one – might gain me some bandwidth as the distance from the existing external antenna to the router meant I was losing almost all the ‘gain’ from the aerial in the length of co-ax.So – I decided for a little over Â£50 it was worth a try with this external modem.I was concerned about how waterproof this router would be – I live in an exposed part of Yorkshire and the router would be sure to take a ‘hammering’ if I mounted it up on my satellite mast. I asked the question of the seller who assured me it was IP65 rated, so it should be sufficient for the exposure up on my roof.When the unit arrived, I was impressed to see that the external antenna were supplied with o rings to seal where they are mounted with the case and that caps were provided for the optional slots to the removable casing where the LAN cable plugs in – in other words, yes it appears to meat the IP rating of 65 and I think would survive in the great british outdoors.Setting up the router was relatively simple and was effectively plug and play. A little bit of tweaking to disable some of the defaults via an IP address login was a sensible precaution before leaving the network open to the world. The user interface is a little primitive and doesn’t have the GUI of say a Huawei router – but everything is there if you want to alter the router settings.Performance wise – this router matched my Huawei + external antenna performance when indoors (this includes through my 3 ft thick walls – so I think very impressive. Outside it just excels in performance and has effectively doubled my internet speed – which is why I can happily logon to Amazon and write this review.What the routers endurance outside and reliability will be like, I don’t know for certain as I’m operating it indoors at the moment – it’s been a little too windy and wet to be installing aloft at the moment!In summation – this external modem router was an absolute delight and one of those (rare) occassions where I bought something without a lot of hope of success, only to be blown away by it’s performance and value – 5 stars – cos I can’t give 6 🙂

Title: Complete garbage
Review: Worked ok for about a week. Then started dropping wifi and needing resets. After 2 weeks it just died completely. Trying to return for a refund but with no printer i need to walk over a mile to a drop off point that can print the label. Combination of a poorly made poor quality product with no customer support from the seller or amazon now. Avoid like the plague. Was used indoors in a cool dry area with both a wireless and ethernet connection in the end. Useless.

Title: Exceeded Expectations
Review: So I purchased this after lots of deliberation on what would meet my two problems needing a solution.I wanted a sim deal router to take to our caravan and get wifi for the kids to use and for tv streaming. If I was signing up for a sim data deal then I wanted something to also get wifi for in the car for the kids while traveling down the 3 hours drive. So I was looking at two devices to buy.I took the plunge and purchased this and also thought about buying a little wireless sim wifi router for the car. But I wasnâ€™t sure if this would be good and/or that the sim deal would be good. So opted to buy this router first and seeâ€¦The router arrived as you can see in the box.The two antennas on the side are fixed and the top wifi and 4G ones are screw in. The base has a removable stand, and a cover which you can plug the holes to make waterproof and run cables out the bottom. (Whilst it is waterproof to a degree I do think it could be better) I will probably add a little something in the bottom to further ensure water doesnâ€™t get in. But I wouldnâ€™t say itâ€™s enough to put you off buying. Iâ€™m talking a little cable sized hole that I might put a blob of silicone in.To make this simpleâ€¦ the power socket has two network cable ports. One to power the router and another to hard wire a tv in via the Ethernet if you wish. The Ethernet cable supplied isnâ€™t very long so consider possibly getting a longer one. But this power option is perfect and can give you max benefit from being hard wired to say a tv and avoiding wifi.So here is what surprised meâ€¦ you can also power this from the micro USB port! So the photo attached to the review is the router in my car plugged into the USB port. So this router not only can be put on my caravan roof tv ariel or even sat at a window depending on signal but I can use it in the car! My son was on his switch playing online and my daughter was on her iPad watching YouTube. I even used a battery travel power bank to power it in the garden and get wifi.I got the handy pay and go sim. Â£20 a month unlimited no contract. So I can pay Â£20 as and when I need it for that month.Download speeds from sitting testing in my livingroom was 27mb down and 4mb up. They say about 14mb download is what you need to stream 4k videos. So this was more than enough and at the time I was only half signal.So if you see this on the deal(frustrating as I bought this a few days prior and paid Â£10ish more) I would definitely recommend and buy again.For infoâ€¦I had to install the sim and power the router off and on to get it to accept it. In the interface you can read text messages and accept messages. The handy sim you active online and once you get an email to say activation is complete it works.The user interface is simple but then you donâ€™t really need much. I mean I changed the ssid and password. Thatâ€™s about all I played about with.I will update the review with the outcome next week when I test it at the caravan. But I have no doubts it will work and be a perfect solution.

Review: Preis Leistung passt. Karte rein und fertig. Allerdings ist die Empfangsanzeige gefÃ¼hlt immer zu hoch. Wo ich vorher im D und E Netz nur wenig SignalstÃ¤rke hatte, wird jett deutlich mehr angezeigt.POE ist fÃ¼r meinen Zweck super. Die Ausstattung ist ehr gering gehalten, aber ausreichend. Wifi Reichweite ist ok. Leider keine Wireguard. Ansonsten gut.
