Title: It works, but you may need to crank it up all the way(or calibrate)
Review: Edit: I’ve purchased different soldering iron and got a little brave to turn a calibration half a turn up, with idea if it breaks it breaks, and it works great now, but i know temp read-out wasn’t and isn’t right, so I’m assuming that I’ve just got one that required calibration to work properly, and still requires it for correct temp. (so from 3 stars to 4 stars)Original:Right, I’m ain’t a beginner in soldering, just had a long break from electronics, I may have forgotten a few tips and tricks, however, watched few youtube tutorials just to wake up my memory…This soldering station is alright for its price, quite comfortable to use, few different tips, nice body, it is ok.The problem I’ve got with this station, that solder wire, that supposed to melt at 320-350 C (non-lead) I have to crank it up right up to 460-480C to work with it and even then not always soo easy. So the temperature on a dial is way off and requires calibration, which the option for it is there, just need to purchase another device, the temp probe, to calibrate temperature. so another £20-40. From 0-“480” it heats up quite fast, at least on the dial, obviously Tip takes its time to warm up, but it ain’t a long time so no problem there. and I haven’t tested the so-called ‘sleep mode’ as never let the soldering station on for long enough, not using it, to see it in action 🙂 I’d still say it’s alright for the price of £40, but now I know if I’ll keep doing stuff that requires soldering, I may go for stations that recently has been recommended to me, maybe slightly more expensive, but it feels like I should have gone for it. And in the first place, I’ve ordered this station, not other, cause it’s been only one sub £50, that could have been delivered sort of next/same day, and time was my concern.

Review: build feels a little cheap in places but its so cheap I can forgive that, everywhere else it excels, very good temperature control and love the way you can set it and the speed of which the heating element adjusts to it. Basically this is a very expensive professional soldering iron built and supplied on the cheap and done very well.
