Mulberry Silk
Mulberry silk comes from silk worms that are fed a strict diet of mulberry leaves. This strict diet results in the cocoons being naturally milky white in colour which means that chemical bleaching is not needed and the silk lasts longer and stays more durable. Mulberry silk has naturally longer strands which results in the the final product being smooth and soft with a natural shine to it, because it is a long fibre material it means that it has better strength and a longer product life time. Mulberry Silk is far more superior to tussah silk and is much more sought after type. Jasmine Silk believe in high quality, long lasting, luxury products and this is the reason we use 100% Mulberry Silk.
Tussah Silk
Tussah silk is made by silk worms that have a diet which consists of oak and juniper leaves. The cocoons are often brown or grey in colour which means they have to go through chemical bleaching to turn them white. Due to the short, course fibres the end result means the fabric is a lot rougher and the longevity of the product is impacted as the short strands result in the product breakdown happening much faster. Tussah silk is commonly found in duvet fillings but because of the short fibres they do not last as long and are known for losing fluffiness quickly.

Review: I had read about silk duvets and I thought I would invest one because there were so many good things about it. It arrived on time and beautifully packaged and I have tried it out. It most definitely is a different kind of sleep experience. I find that even if you put in a cotton duvet cover you do derive some benefit such as it is warm, light and really wraps around your body really well. I already have silk covers for my pillow and was having problems with my hair and I notice a certain smoothness appearing. I think anyone buying a duvet should look into this range.

Review: This duvet is super comfortable – it drapes over you, is not heavy and not at all over-heating. Man made fibres can be sweaty and unpleadant in warm bedrooms but silk is lovely. I have previously bought another of these quilts, pillows, mattress topper and pillowcases from this seller and all hav e been of high quality and beautifully made. I thoroughly recommend this seller for products and speed of delivery.

Review: I am still using a blanket on top of my 9tog silk quilt and its Spring! It is snug, soft and light. The light weight takes a bit of getting used to as I was used to a heavy quilt but the one all season quilt is not enough to keep me warm. I will have to spend another £100 for the 4 tog quilt on top of £150 already spent to keep me sufficiently warm.

Review: OOOOHHHHHH we LOVE this duvet!!!!! Bought as a summer duvet but it is amazingly warm for its thinness and weight and ‘hugs’ around you so eliminates air pockets. Actually a bit too warm for summer, maybe should have got a lower tog but I wanted to have a slightly warmer duvet so as to be good year-round value. It stays on amazingly well even with my hubby who kicks off most duvets in the night so they end up sliding off the bed. Now going from Spring to Autumn and can even use on mild Winter nights under another duvet or blanket. I will only change this to (or add) our winter feather duvet in November or December. This is amazingly good value and the best price I’ve seen for a pure silk duvet.

Review: This duvet is beautiful, it gives a lovely heat without weight and feels very calming, really helps me sleep better.. indefinitely sneeze and cough less than I do with feathers. I had tried man made fibres but found them very hot and heavy. Can anyone give me advice on what to spot wash with this. I have eczema that really itches at night meaning I need to wash the spots regularly. Thanks for suggestions.
