Title: Well balanced foot\clip and wide field of view with no loss in picture quality
Review: Flip cover is a good visible feature and also the LED Light notification is brighter than the photos show:-Arrived and was well protected with internal plastic packaging. The base\clip of the camera has pads on both sides to allow sitting on a surface without sliding around. The clip is nicely stiff for attaching to screen\edges and also has pads inside to maintain the grip and not damage the edge it is on.USB A and C both worked on 2 different laptops prior to setting up the first time….and no issue with plug and play with current Windows software. In a Teams call, you get to see the wide angle view in action…. and did have to alter home working to cater for the extra that is on screen.Used this in an office location and was able to get 3 colleagues on screen and not have to sit close together. Also due to working in a meeting room, using the microphone worked to pick up the 4 voices. With this camera and the microphone, it made you feel slightly better\comfortable that you could work in own space and not have to sit over someone….or even have the camera up close….or even far away. There is also plenty of cable for allowing laptop to be on another desk and the camera to be up on a ledge or in this case a flip chart to cover a wider area.Viewers on the meeting didn’t notice any ghosts or lagging or even stuttering therefore provide a good video coverage.Taking from home to office and back is a possibility with this camera as its not a heavy kit and seems to be in the normal weight range when compared to others used in the workplace.Overall, this got asked to be used again due to the wider angle so I would say this makes it a worthwhile camera to use.

Title: Fell short in some areas but still a good quality webcam!
Review: The j5create 4K Wide Angle Webcam is quite impressive in many aspects, especially when considering the crisp Ultra HD resolution it brings to the table. The 8MP sensor is adept at picking up nuances in movements and facial expressions, making video calls much more immersive and lifelike. It’s also noteworthy how the built-in high-fidelity dual microphones have an excellent pickup range, ensuring clarity in communication. The auto-adjusting image sensor which tweaks based on lighting conditions is a neat touch, assuring users of a consistent video quality even in varying ambient conditions.A significant advantage of this webcam is its flexible design. The 360-degree swivel capability is incredibly handy for on-the-fly adjustments during calls or streams, making it versatile for different setups or quick position changes. Plus, the inclusion of the built-in privacy cover is thoughtful, granting users peace of mind when the camera is idle. The dual connectivity options, catering to both USB-C and USB Type-A, further augment its adaptability, making it suitable for a broad range of devices. However, while the JVU430 is a robust offering, I feel the price point is slightly on the steeper side. Given its performance and feature set, it seems more aligned with a more moderate pricing tier, closer to the £50 range. That said, if you’re in the market for a reliable webcam with decent features, this j5create model is worth considering, albeit with a slight reservation regarding its value proposition.Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂

Title: Poor quality, and too wide an viewing angle
Review: I made a mistake. I took it on trust that this was a good product, based on the (then) high star rating, so I didn’t test it until after the return window expired. If I had, it would have gone back. The picture quality is very poor, and not at all what I’d expect from a “4K” webcam. Also, even at the narrowest setting, the field of view is just way too wide. I can’t even get anything close to head and shoulders, for Zoom calls.

Title: Brillaint cam, replaced my logitec. Good app for settings on mac
Review: Very pleased with this webcam. Previously I used a logitec at about the same price as this but it was only 1080P resolution. I was very pleased with the logitec but wanted a higher resolution.I use this on the mac and have had trouble with some plug and play cameras in the past because of LED light flicker and many don’t provide and app to adjust settings. This is great, picture and sound are brilliant. I did need to istall the companion app from the website as it suffered from flicker due to my lighting but this was because the mac doesn’t allow any adjustments (unlike windows) and it was set to 60Hz by default. Setting it to 50hz eliminated the flicker. It’s great how you can move the image around and changed the size of the field.I’ve read in the reviews someone complaining the field was not wide enough. I suspect they just plugged it in and did not download the companion app which allows you to change this and many other preferences such as gamma, hue, etc.Has all the features of the logitec at a much lower price. Very pleased.

Title: quality webcam but pricy
Review: j5create 4K Wide Angle Webcam is well made and looks fabulous. It comes with all features and works greatly with all meetings or all apps I tried, zoom team skype for example. For 4K effect, please remember use USB 3 ports as otherwise it’s similar with 1080p. the cover is lovely and easy to operate, standard feature anyway. The dual mic is impressive and delivers clear and enhanced voice.Overall a great webcam but a bit pricy (£84.99 when reviewed).

Review: I had been using a Logitech c930e as my webcam for work Zoom and MS Teams calls because our laptops are limited in terms of installing software and the Logitech camera software was an approved package as Logitech was our official webcam brand. However, over time during the pandemic, there has been less of a push toward specific brands as people have probably bought whatever the wanted and the Logitech software was removed from my machine. That being the case, I no longer had any particular loyalty toward the Logitech camera and wondered about higher resolution options.J5 is a company I knew existed; I’ve bought some of their dongles and adapters in the past so I was willing to try out this product. I’d previously considered getting the Logitech Brio 4K camera when I was looking at Logitech options, but after watching many reviews on YouTube, I decided it wasn’t worth the extra expense. So this camera supporting 4K and a wide angle appealed to me, at least on paper. BTW, speaking of dongles, this one comes with both standard USB and C adapter/connectors, which is handy.I tried this camera out with Zoom and Teams for work but I did more testing using it with OBS on my own personal laptop since I can install whatever I want on it. The microphone on the camera is serviceable but like most webcams, you’ll get some echo as it picks up room ambience (unless your room is set up for recording and you’ve made the appropriate adjustments to reduce echo). It’s perfectly fine for most work calls; you can be heard just fine although there will be white noise in the background. I use a separate mic for my work calls, and this paired up fine for my usual set up with no issues. I use a Creative X3 with a condenser mic plugged in and use the SPDIF out to a Fiio BT30 Bluetooth transmitter (transmitting to a Fiio BT5) so I can listen wirelessly for those calls where I’m doing more listening than talking. I had no issues with the camera at all even with my strange setup. The camera itself produces video that is also satisfactory for work videoconferencing. Out of the box with no adjustment, colors are reasonable even in sketchy lighting. In fact, it does a better with low light overall than the Logitech. The wide angle is something I thought I would like, but I found myself hiding things in my work area or moving the camera to get the shot I wanted. I don’t view this as a negative per se, it’s just something to keep in mind. If you’re used to a tighter shot, you may find you also need to adjust things that appear in the shot.I love that the camera has a built-in cover and I appreciate the light that tells you quickly and easily whether the camera is simply powered on (white) or is in use (green). The camera itself is larger than the Logitech, but it does better sitting on a flat surface. It can of course also be mounted on a tripod if desired.I don’t really have any complaints with this camera. I don’t think it’s a camera a serious gamer would want to use for livestreaming to Twitch, but it’s also not advertised for that kind of use. For people looking for a higher resolution and/or wide angle camera that can fit more people in a shot, this is a good option and worth trying out. It’s cheaper than the Logitech Brio so unless you’re very invested in the brand, I’d definitely say try this one out first.
