Title: Easy setup
Review: Great value. Setup took seconds with an echo dot, so I didn’t need the mesh app. When a coloured light is chosen things get a little dim and a few of the colours look a bit severe, sickly and unnatural. Other colours are great. On the whole, very pleased.

Title: Not the easiest setup, but good once working and controllable via Alexa
Review: This review is for “iLC Alexa Light Bulbs, 13W Smart Light Bulb Colour Changing Light Bulb Warm White 2700K +RGB, B22, Bayonet (2 Pack)”. I received this item for free as a Vine Voice, but that does not influence my reviews which are my own honest unbiased views based on my direct experience with the product.The setup for these light units was in two stages.First, using the BRMesh app to recognise the lights and control them via the phone. This process worked fine on the app, so long as I remembered to turn the bulb on AFTER starting the new device search on the app. It was simple to pair the lights for this first stage, and control of colours, white temperature and brightness are straightforward. The lights are quite bright when at 100% and have a really good rendition of all the standard colours.The second stage of pairing was to get Alexa to recognise and control them. To do this you have to get the app to set up each light to be ready to pair with an Alexa device. My first issue with this was that several of my Alexa devices were too old to be compatible. This was annoying as it took multiple attempts to pair before I worked out that they were only compatible with newer Alexa devices. Eventually I tried doing this in a different room which worked ok as it had a newer Alexa device. I was then able to control the light colour, brightness and colour temperature all via Alexa commands and routines.The lights are controlled only via bluetooth, so you can either continue to use the app, whilst within range of the lights or control via Alexa. The lights themselves have no WiFi connection, so cannot report back home or be controlled via a proprietary cloud. Of course, if you want to control the lights when outside your home network, you can do that via the Alexa app.The price at time of review was around £20 for the pair of lights, which is pretty good value for money for two bulbs. I give them a four star rating, as the complexities of setting up might be more than some users can manage – this is one for people who are a bit more confident in their home control setup.
