Review: The “Smart 3-Socket with 6 x USB Ports Extension Lead” from “Hey!” is a very good quality, surge protected extension lead that’s also Smart so works with Alexa & Google Home.First off, the manufacture and build of the extension lead is absolutely top-notch. The hard-plastic housing of the main unit is incredibly tough and durable. In fact, there’s zero chance of it accidentally breaking or anything, should it be dropped. All joins are tight and well joined, with clearly more than just glue holding it together.The plug sockets don’t have their own independent power on/off switches, which is a shame as this can be a handy feature. It means you can easily turn certain appliances off without having to turn them all off or unplug them. However, there is one main on/off button located on the top surface of the unit – which turns on/off the power for all three plugs and the USB ports. This admittedly is better than no on/off switch at all (which some other extension leads lack).As previously mentioned, the extension lead includes six USB ports. That’s obviously incredibly handy in this day and age. Again, these ports are well made, with good, solid tight fitting inputs.The extension cable is thick and secured to the box well, offering flexibility but without compromising the strength of the unit and the connection.The extension unit offers a total power at any one time of 10 Amps, which is a fair about. However, if you’re planning to use this in the kitchen for say a kettle, microwave and a toaster or something, then be warned you’d probably exceed the limit and blow a fuse.The Smart functionality is excellent. I connected this to the “Smart Life” (which I already have for multiple units) and it found the items easily first time – so all goo!All in all, I’m very happy with the extension lead and socket set as a whole. Honestly, the quality is absolutely top notch and the Smart functionality just makes life that much easier. Great stuff!

Title: Smooth Modern casing But Use Smart Life App For Control
Review: I have a few of these smart power extensions which do come in very handy and work out cheaper than individual smart sockets, when this one came up I ordered it to add to my growing smart home setup.On opening, this looks to be nicely made and consists of three power sockets all of which can be smart controlled and six USB outlets which unfortunately are not part of the smart setup but will still be very useful for charging or powering devices on request.Once I found a home for this, it has replaced what was two individual smart plugs and still gives me one extra as a spare, the USB sockets have come in handy for me to run extensions from to charge my devices in my office without using a separate charger.This extension has a total power of ten amps which for modern equipment is plenty however if it was used to power a three kilowatt heater it would be damaged or worse so just be sure of the power being used at any one time.Within the basic instructions is a link to their own app but I like to keep the different apps I use to a minimum so I tried connecting this to my Smart Life app which found the devices and works perfectly, I have also found this to be the case with several devices previously so it’s worth checking when install new smart units, the Tuya app can also be used as it’s basically the same as Smart Life.This connected with no issues at all and instantly showed in the app which as I have already added Smart Life to my Alexa account the sockets also added automatically to my Echo setup.The app can be used to control the sockets by setting timers etc’ but I always prefer to keep all of my automations in one place so I tend to use Alexa for this and so far all of the sockets on the extension have been working on my smart home system flawlessly.Nicely made and easy setup.

Title: A great Alexa compatible smart extension. Recommended.
Review: When I received this, the first thing that struck me was the presentation. The box looked professional and gave me the impression it was well made. The actual product just reinforced this view to me. Sturdy, crisp design, the plugs fitted into the sockets perfectly.Setting up was easy enough, once I’d worked out how to change my router to 2.4g. You can set this up to use Alexa or use the products app, both of which can turn on the four individual plugs or all of the USB sockets at once. It would have been perfect if the individual USB sockets were controllable, but I have another, different brand one of these which is the same, so I think this is how they all are.Definitely recommend this item.

Title: I wish I knew these existed sooner…
Review: I’m a total technophobe but I’m starting to realise that a lot of the smart technology about could actually be useful to me and that I don’t have to insist on living in the 19th century all the time…This smart power strip from Hey! includes 3 standard plugs and a bank of 6 USB ports. The cable is 1.5m long which, given my old house and it’s lack of wall sockets, was a little short but I made it work.The packaging is very…plush? for such a utilitarian item but I appreciated it none the less and the supporting app was very easy to download and use.I run a number of houseplant grow lights in my main bedroom and it’s also where I charge things like my smart watch, my headphones etc so I’m usually fighting for plug space but this power strip is genuinely going to make life a lot easier.I customised the first two plugs for my plant lights so that they turn on and off automatically every day and you can switch any unused sockets and ports off via the app as well. I also like that the entire unit can be turned off as well – I habitually turn everything off at the wall every time so this might appease that need slightly.Im very pleased with this product – it feels well built and fulfills it’s function and intended use nicely.
