Review: I was looking at gooseneck kettles at three or four times the price of this one and thought that for their price the other gooseneck kettles were just not worth it. They had lots of features that were gimmicks to me as I would never use them. I wanted a gooseneck kettle that pours great, holds a generous amount of water, the temperature could be set and had a keep warm function and a timer. It services all of my needs to perfection, and it looks great too. I would highly recommend this kettle to someone who is just starting on their coffee/tea journey.

Review: Overall sentiment is that it works okUnfortunately this feels like a bit of a case of ‘you get what you pay for’. I found the build to be very light, plasticky and the adjustment knob to be loose and unresponsive.The temperature of the kettle itself is not very accurate either compared with a thermometer in the water. Title: Better than expected
Review: Use this for making pour over brew coffee. Getting up to temp isn’t as fast as a standard kettle with only an on switch, but you can set specif temperatures and watch the dial as it heats up. Don’t bother reading the instructions it’s that simple.

Review: At this price point, I don’t think you can find a better goose neck kettle with thermal control.Criticism is that it feels a little bit light/cheap, but not fragile. I’ve been using it for over a year and haven’t had any issues, so it does appear to be durable. The base is plastic.The kettle doesn’t sit flush on the base unless there’s some water in the kettle. It kind of bobbles/wobbles. Minor gripe.

Review: Gooseneck Electric Kettle: $53.99 at the time of reviewI feel like I say this a lot, but if youâ€™ve read any of my other reviews, youâ€™ll know that I drink a lot of tea. So much so that we installed an instant hot water heater in our kitchen. It works well about 95% of the time. But every so often (if the power goes out, for example) itâ€™ll turn off and I wonâ€™t know it. So I wanted to get a nice little tea kettle for making tea & pour-over coffee as a backup.*What I liked*:This kettle looks great! The gooseneck design is stylish and the black color (along with the black base) will go with any decor.The base is very convenient with easy-to-use controls and digital temperature right on the front.It does heat water pretty darn fast. I found the 5 minute claim to be just about right (though it may take longer in colder climates).*What I didn’t like*:I just have one complaint here, and that is regarding the size. Itâ€™s great for making a few cups of tea or coffee, but if you intend to use it for other purposes (e.g. recipes that call for boiling water), you might want to look elsewhere. 0.9L just isnâ€™t that much water (thatâ€™s about 4 cups).I was going to mention the price, but after a quick search on Amazon, itâ€™s actually really reasonably priced for a gooseneck kettle with a digital display on the base (though to be clear, there are plenty of other much cheaper options without the display).*The Bottom Line:*This turned out to be a great kettle. The design is attractive and should fit in well on most kitchen counters. And the gooseneck feature makes precision pouring super easy for picky coffee/tea brewers. Review: The description page on Amazon says this item is for 220-240 vac and I came close to avoiding it. But the power rating was 1200 watts which sounded more like it was 120-vac, so I ordered it. Well, it arrived equipped with a 120 vac plug on it, so I’m good to go. Heating water is no problem for this kettle and it allows a temperature to be set and maintained using either the Centigrade or Fahrenheit scale, important for me since I am an old hand who uses only Fahrenheit. You will want to thoroughly wash this pot out before using it to prepare a hot drink, due to the plastic smell in it from the packing material in the box. Once that is taken care of you have a nice stainless kettle that won’t give any off-tastes as long as you keep it clean. I like the idea of a spout, although this one is not as substantial as those you may have seen in the past. I’m concerned that a little bit of rough treatment might be enough to break it off the kettle. I do not intend to test that idea, so I expect good service for a long time. The heating element is arranged in compact circles that fit up into circular grooves in the metallic part of the bottom of the kettle, giving a pretty good contact area while allowing the bottom of the kettle to be covered with plastic. Now that’s innovative! The exterior of the kettle is finished in black and should blend into just about any decor it is near. A very modern take on a traditional design. I like it. Having said all of that, there is one further thing I need to mention. If the heating element ever stops functioning there is no way you can use this on a standard stove-top burner since the bottom is covered with plastic. Hopefully that doesn’t happen.

Review: I needed a new kettle and this one is pretty nice! I like the sleek design and itâ€™s easy to use. I like the fact that it has a keep warm button and temperatures up to 212Â° F. My only issues with this is that a couple days later I saw a redish dot on the cover, which may be rust or just discoloration but itâ€™s something to note. It also doesnâ€™t give you super exact temperatures. You could set it to a specific temperature with the dial but sometimes it will overshoot 2-4 degrees.Itâ€™s not a huge deal breaker for me but if you need it to be super exact temperatures then itâ€™s probably not the right one for you.

Review: I already have a kettle. My son used it so often to make his tea that he needed one to take to college with him. I was not giving up mine. I found this for him, and it’s a great kettle to have in a dorm room or other limited kitchen place. The auto-off feature makes it compliant with many housing codes. It’s also got a masculine, matte, modern appearance which makes it an attractive decor piece as well. I like that it’s in two pieces so the base can stay near the limited outlet space, and he can take the kettle to get filled down the hall. Some kettles are all one piece, so the whole unit and cord go with you.We tried it out before he left, and the water heated quickly, seemed to be quicker and hotter than my current kettle. The capacity is good for one person. The keep warm feature will come in handy during study times to refill his cup. He can use hot water for so many things besides tea that I think it’s a very handy appliance to have on hand. I like that the settings are on the base and easy to use. That is another feature I don’t have. I think I accidentally got him a better kettle to take away to college. You can’t go wrong with this kettle. It makes a good hot cup of tea and has a lot of convenient features.

Review: The built-in thermometer of this kettle isn’t anywhere close to being accurate. Depending on how much water is in the kettle, it will start boiling when the temperature gauges reads somewhere between 170 to 190 degrees F. After about a minute the temperature gauge will catch up to where the kettle actually is and then only read about 5-10 degrees F high. (I tested the kettle’s reading against two separate instant-read thermometers which were both validated against boiling water and ice water.)Unfortunately the amount the temperature reading is off is not consistent between uses, so you can’t just offset the temperature setting to compensate for the incorrect temperature readings.The kettle also makes a very annoying beeping sound when removed from the base. This “feature” is impossible to disable, and happens even if the kettle is not set up to maintain a temperature. The best you can do is pick a target temp that gets you closest to what you actually want, use roughly the same amount of water each time, then let the kettle come up to temp. It will overshoot the temp and eventually come back down close to the desired temperature. With a few runs testing against an instant-read thermometer you can eventually get somewhat close to a given temp, as long as you avoid using the keep warm function (which greatly compounds the temperature accuracy problems).The heating elements of the kettle are also attached to some kind of plastic or rubber which is not very heat-resistant. For the first month or so of using this kettle, I got faint burning plastic smells coming from the bottom of the kettle base. Removing the bottom screws and manually cleaning every week (making sure to get rid of any errant plastic pieces around the screws) seemed to help get rid of that smell more quickly.On the plus side, the interior surfaces of the kettle that the water actually touches seem to be of reasonable quality stainless steel. The gooseneck shape is also decent enough to use for finicky pourovers coffee brewers like the Hario V60, and the kettle itself seems to retain heat reasonably well.For general kitchen “I want to boil water” needs, like making tea, the kettle is perfectly fine. But if you’re looking for an accurate kettle definitely look elsewhere – this is only marginally better than a kettle that can only boil water.
