Title: Not bad, not brilliant.
Review: The torque wrench comes in a nice strong plastic storage box and all the bits are held securely in place. The bits can easily be removed from their clips, unlike some toolkits I’ve tested where it’s almost impossible to prise them from their locations and even harder to put them back.The wrench looks smart with the red handle and bright chrome finish but the engineering behind the façade isn’t quite as nice. The ratchet head has quite a lot of play in it and some of the supplied bits don’t get held in place properly by the ball bearing detent; they can be pulled off without any effort, despite supposedly having to press a button first. Also, when moving the ratchet direction lever between the two extremes, there is a wide dead spot in the middle where no pawls are engaged in the mechanism and the drive can be spun freely. I’ve never encountered this before and reinforces my impression that the engineering tolerances are too big.For day-to-day usage this might not matter too much, and the torque settings match up well with other wrenches. The tool is easy to adjust, and the markings are clearly etched, so it’s not all bad, but the tool isn’t satisfying to use, and just feels a bit rattly.

Title: Solid compact set
Review: Great solid tool and nice selection of bits that cover most scenarios I’ve needed it for. Useful for more than just bikes, I have this on hand in the workshop and its great for ensuring I don’t overtighten anything that’s delicate.Torque settings seem accurate to me, I don’t have a proper tool to measure them exactly but by comparison to other tools it feels right.Well made, and good quality for the price. Would recommend.

Title: Great ratchet. Poor bits
Review: He ratchet has a lot going for it. The quality of it is very good and is well oiled.In use it has fine movement and not as much clicking as I expected. I’d imagine this is due to its size and is by design, as it still works fine. The fine movement is smooth and easy to do with this.The actual bits are considerably lower quality. Several of them are moulded wrong. Bent in odd ways. This can happen but my concern is that this wasn’t checked. They still work but I’m not overly impressed there.Without it being a complete package I find it hard to recommend. It’s a shame as the ratchet is very good.

Title: Great tool and excellent value.
Review: I am a keen cyclist but due to injury have recently moved to an electric bike. I went to have it services a few months ago and the cost for them to check nuts and bolts are tight enough was over £70. Well I decided to get this torque wrench set to help me service my own electric bike and my motorbike. I have a bigger torque wrench for the motor bike but in a lot of instances it is to big to use on either ride. This torque wrench is excellent quality and comes in a smart plastic case to keep everything in place. The torque setting re easy to adjust and the indicator is sufficient when you reach the required torque. At £30 something I have already made that back twice over by not having to get the cycle shop to check all the nuts and bolts for the correct torque at £70 a time. This is a great product well worth the money and will save you a fortune by getting you bike ready for the summer ensuring your nuts and bolts are all tightened correctly and not paying well over the odds for someone in a bike shop to do it.. I highly recommend this product for both cycles and motorbikes..

Title: Does the job a treat…
Review: This is a decent little torque wrench set, aimed at cyclists in the advert but very useful for all kinds of other fixings.The wrench itself feels solid enough… once you’ve increased the torque setting a little.Straight out the case the head did have a bit of a wobble up and down (as opposed to the normal left/right direction), and was easy to get a ‘click’ with a bit of hand pressure alone. A couple of twists on the tightener sorted it out.It’s very easy to set, and the locking ring will prevent the setting from straying while in use.The markings are very well etched into the shaft and easy to read which is great, as some of these things are barely visible and a right pain to set without using a magnifying glass (or very good eyesight).Accuracy-wise, it compares pretty much the same to a similar set I have here (a socket version), so I wouldn’t have any concerns in using this on a regular basis.Unless you know the specific torque setting for the particular fixings you’re working with, it’s always a bit of trial and error in setting these up. I’m more interested in the consistency once it’s been set… knowing it will tighten to the same degree each time I use it… as opposed to whether the torque is ‘bang-on’ to the setting indicated on the handle.It would be great if it is, but I certainly wouldn’t be worried if it’s not too far out.It’s a good little set with a decent range of 2-24Nm, so will be handy on smaller stuff where a larger/heavier wrench would be overkill.On a quality/value-for-money basis… 4-Stars.
