Title: Incredible
Review: Until I bought this pencil sharpener I never realised how bad my previous one was which was a gift from someone. It had chewed up so many pencils and the sharpenings were quite big. However, it’s very different with this electric sharpener. Because I have hands that are very disabled and disfigured, unlike my last pencil sharpener, which went through the back feels like lightning,, This new pencil shop now needs the slightest amount of pressure which I am able to do very easily for me. It sharpens brilliantly and, although a bit expensive, has been excellent and it’s more like shavings/sawdust it comes out. The holder for the shavings doesn’t have to be emptied too often either. Definitely a brilliant purchase and worth the extra cost.

Title: Lovely gadget to speedily sharpen pencils
Review: This is a very handy gadget to keep on the desk, especially if you have multiple pencils to sharpen. It’s fast, effective and tidy. Easy to open and empty the cannister.Does require a plug point however, though the lead is pretty generous.Dropped one star as sometimes it’s difficult to clear the lead when it jams, but overall a great product.

Title: What a mark up for such a cheap piece of rubbish
Review: In short:Don’t buy this. You don’t get what you pay for. I did, and after trying to fix it (after it didn’t work out of the box) for hours, I give up. Only worthy of the bin.Longer:I bought this to help with rapid sharpening of pencils for sketching. It didn’t work out of the box, but I could hear the motor spinning so figured something mechanical was jammed, preventing the sharpener from working.After stripping the sharpener down, the internal mechanism is made out of a convoluted, plastic set of gears screwed down onto the motor. Three layers of gears stack on top of one another before an adaptor helps them turn a thin U shaped metal rod, which connects with the bottom of the visible apparatus.There is a clever spring system around that U-shaped rod – pressing downwards (E.g. on the whole visible apparatus with a pencil inside it) compresses the springs and compresses a switch to complete the circuit and let the motor (and everything above) start spinning.I had to strip it right down to the motor before anything would turn, at first. I then reassembled the sharpener bit by bit, testing each time. Eventually, I got everything that’s hidden within the plastic housing out back together, and the visible U shaped metal bit that connects to the sharpener was spinning nicely. Problem solved?As soon as you then attach the sharpener and the plastic housing that holds it in position, the sharpener barely worked again. It seems the teeth of the gear on top of the sharpener doesn’t fit well into the external plastic housing that keeps it in a strict vertical position. It did jutter and splutter occasionally, creating a few wood chippings, but no sharp pencil. Mostly, the sharpener bit stays rigid while the sound of the motor hums away.£18 for a cheap motor, some cheap soldered wiring, some cheap plastic gears, cheap plastic housing, 11 screws and a sharpening piece that must be 4-5cm. An absolute rip off.Save yourself the money and get one from a different company. I’ll stick to standard sharpeners for now…

Review: This appears to be a great sharpener. I have only sharpened a few pencils, so time will tell. I am not sure why it is reported that this sharpener automatically stops sharpening when the pencil is sharp enough… maybe mine is faulty, but I tested this with a pencil and the pencil disappeared fully within a minute, the sharpener did not stop.

Title: Great but doesn’t last
Review: This is the third one I’ve had this year. I am a teacher and use this often. When it works it is great, sharpens pencils well, stops when the pencil is sharp but they don’t last 1 term. Wish there was a repair service or spare parts as it’s a waste of money and plastic buying new each time.
