Title: Very nice affects
Review: Interesting concept, being able to sync the backlighting ambience with what is being displayed on the TV – and it works quite well – though not 100% all the time.It does take a dedicated slot of time to install and set this up, you only get one attempt, so you need to do it right, particularly when sticking down the LED’s and the light sensor – this has to be correct. The tricky part is ensuring the LED’s start and end together, so there is no gap or overlap – you do this by adjusting your rectangle size around the back of the TV, trying to be symmetrical as best as possible, so that the reflected light is also symmetry. You can programme the start and end point to be at the top or bottom of the screen – this is configured through the app. I suggest you get the app running and play with it prior to installation. The instructions state that this kit is ideal for 55″ to 65″ screens – I think this is more a function of the sensor, as it is at a fixed distance and angle – the arm can be place on the top or bottom, I chose the top as it is probably less likely to get knocked and also be interfered with less by the bright spot lights in the ceiling. It took about an hour to instal and 30 minutes messing around with the app.I love the effect produced, looks great when lighting is turned down in the evenings and you have the warm changing backlights – wife complained, she found it irritating, by my Daughter and son and I like it – it isn’t for everyone, but if you are into gadgets you will love this new toy.Overall it is a nice addition to the lounge, currently reduced in priced to £59.99, which offers better value, however, it is quite expensive still.

Title: Disco TV backlight…
Review: This product reminds me of the Philips’ Ambilight televisions for almost 20 years ago the only difference is this being an add-on rather than a factory fit. Whilst also being way better technology, especially as 20 year’s in technology terms these days is massive…Mounting the Immersion light kit on the back of my TV turned into a bit of a project, clocking in at about an hour. I proceeded with caution, considering the delicate nature of gluing over 12 feet of LED lights onto my beloved LG TV. The Immersion light strip itself is straightforward—a single strand of RGBIC LEDs secured with strong 3M adhesive. To ensure a precise installation, I used masking tape as a guide before committing to the permanent attachment of the LEDs around the TV’s perimeter.Note: The Immersion kit is best suited for TVs between 55 and 65 inches, with the LED light strip divided into sections measuring 70cm for the sides and 120cm along the top and bottom. For my 55-inch TV, I had to do some creative manoeuvring to ensure the slack at the corners wasn’t visible from the front. It was a bit of trial and error, but the adhesive cable clamps included in the kit came in handy. Installation should be smoother for larger TVs.The Immersion TV Backlight relies on an external camera to sync the LEDs with the colours detected on the display. However, the camera’s placement is crucial—it watches the display edges and maps colours back to each LED. The marketing suggests placing the camera on top of the TV, but the companion app reveals it can also go at the bottom. However, Mounting the camera at the bottom does come with a drawback: increased light interference, which can affect the accuracy of the Immersion backlight colours. In the Home app, you’re greeted with an overwhelming array of options. There are interactive modes that sync the strips with music and video, as well as static modes tailored to your favourite colour patterns and scenes. It was in the Video mode where I truly embraced my Ambilight dreams.Video mode offers two settings: Segmented (part) or Overall. Part mode lets each RGBIC LED respond locally to what’s happening on the adjacent display, while All mode creates a uniform backlight based on an average of what the camera captures. The app has several modes: TV, Dimmer, Scene and Music.Overall, I’ve been quite pleased with the accuracy of the colour mapping, though there are occasional moments of confusion. Despite that, I’ve reached a point where I can’t imagine watching TV without the immersive dynamic backlight—it adds a whole new level of enjoyment to the viewing experience!Pros:• Works seamlessly with any content on the display, unlike the Hue Play Box.• Delivers a genuine immersive experience.• Offers excellent value for money.Cons:• Some may find the backlighting distracting for certain types of content.• Installation can be a bit fiddly, so patience is key.Overall reasonable value for money.
