Title: Specialist camera for capturing wide images
Review: There’s no microphone with this, it’s just a camera in a small metal box. The lens is a wide 126 degree one, with the sort of distortion you expect with a fisheye lens.
The suggested use case is capturing meetings – you can get more people in view than with most webcams. It will do that well: H264 video compression, 3840×2160 at 30 frames per second with a sharp picture. Reducing the resolution or choosing an alternative video codec will not improve that framerate.
It will also output to HDMI, eg for a local screen or video recorder.
If those are what you need, this is for you. If you’d like to be able to adjust the view or don’t need the HDMI output, there are better options.
There’s a screw above the lens. Do not loosen this screw! It allows you to turn the lens to adjust the focus, but almost the slightest rotation in either direction results in an out of focus picture for any sensible range.

Review: The ELP HDMI USB 4K Camera Type-C HDMI Simultaneous Output PC Camera is versatile and easy to use. It comes complete with necessary cables and is plug and play.
The camera is compact and unobtrusive. The 120 degree lens gives a wide angle view, with no discernible distortion and image resolution is sharp. The body of the camera has a 1/4 inch screw threaded hole to enable tripod mounting and an integral bracket to allow permanent fixing to wall or other surface (screws and wall plugs provided). The camera does not have a microphone, so audio will need to be managed through the host computer
The ELP HDMI USB 4K Camera Type-C HDMI Simultaneous Output PC Camera is ideal for a variety of applications. Primarily intended for live streaming, it is great for video conferencing with a large group present. Connecting the camera to a large HDMI monitor enables close in detail to be available to a wider audience in an educational or formal presentation setting. Connected via an HDMI cable to a digital recording device it can also be used for surveillance purposes. I am sure that there are many other uses to which it could be put.
My only observation is that the instructions provided are very basic. Whilst initial set up is fairly intuitive, access to more detailed information might enable less knowledgeable users to realise the maximum potential from the camera.
The ELP HDMI USB 4K Camera Type-C HDMI Simultaneous Output PC Camera is intended for specialised use and the price tag of £143.99 reflects this. If you simply want a webcam there are cheaper options available.
Competitively priced with comparable products. Would recommend.

elle se connecte au pc via sa fiche usb, pas besoin de drivers, elle est reconnue de suite par windows 11.
on peut aussi s’en servir de caméra en la branchant sur un écran via la fiche hdmi.
elle est équipée d’un zoom.

Title:
Review: … für Videoüberwachung oder Echtzeit Videoübertragung eine sehr gute Lösung. Um sie als Webcam zu nutzen, müsste man ca. 20-23cm von der Optik entfernt sein, sonst verliert man sich im Hintergrund.
Die verbaute Optik ist eindeutig ein Fisheye Linse. Ich würde es auf ein Kleinbild Äquivalent von um die 20mm schätzen. Die Schärfe und die Lichtstärke sind der Optik angemessen – nicht großartig, aber für die meisten Einsätze absolut ok. Bei der Farbwiedergabe sind mir überbetonte rot- und grün-Töne aufgefallen, nicht tragisch, aber eben nicht neutral.
Die Kamera funktioniert an allen Geräten bei mir plug&play. Sei es ein Mac, oder WinPC, oder direkt über HDMI am Fernseher. Im HDMI Betrieb kann die Kamera mit einer extrem kleinen Latenz aufwarten. So würde ich denken, dass man damit z.B. verteile Musiker (Orgel und Chor) schon recht gut synchronisieren kann.
Der HDMI Port braucht nachdem die USB Power anliegt, ca. 5 Sekunden, bis ein Signal ausgegeben wird. Auch im HDMI Betrieb ist die Kamera mit gut 500mA, d.h. ca. 2,5 Watt, noch im Rahmen der USB Spezifikation und kann somit auch über eine Powerbank problemlos über Stunden betrieben werden.
Der Preis ist mit gut 100€ nicht günstig, aber ich denke angemessen. Wer nicht vor hat das Modul irgendwo in einem Gehäuse zu verbauen, sollte die 5€ mehr für die Version mit Gehäuse investieren.
Wenn ich hier einen Stern abziehe, dann nicht wegen der Qualität, sondern wegen der eher sehr weiten Optik, die dann eben die Nutzbarkeit etwas einschränkt.

Review: Das „ELP“ Kamera-Modul kommt gut verpackt an. Mit dabei sind noch ein HDMI-Kabel, ein USB-A auf USB-C Kabel und eine kleine, englische Anleitung. Die technischen Daten entsprechen der Spezifikation in der Produktbeschreibung.
Auf dem Sony-Sensor (IMX415) ist ein 120° Weitwinkel-Objektiv verbaut, die Brennweite und der Fokus sind dabei fest eingestellt. Das Objektiv ist mit einer transparenten Schutzkappe versehen, die natürlich zuerst abgenommen werden sollte.
Ob Mac oder Windows-PC – die Kamera wird anstandslos (ohne Treiber) erkannt, und werkelt mit allen gängigen Apps wie z.B. Skype, Teams, Facetime… Ein Mikrofon ist allerdings nicht an Bord!
Das Bild erinnert durch die 120° schon fast an ein Fischauge und ist m.E. etwas zu dunkel voreingestellt (kann aber korrigiert werden), ist aber sehr scharf und hochauflösend. Es wird 4k/30Hz (3840×2160) in MJPEG, H.264 und H.265 unterstützt.
Als Besonderheit ist der HDMI-Anschluss aufzuführen, mit der man das Bild auch auf einem TV oder passenden Monitor ausgeben kann.
Da es sich hier „nur“ um ein Modul ohne Gehäuse handelt, dürfte wohl klar sein, dass es nicht für den Betrieb im Freien konzipiert ist, und logischerweise vor jeglicher Feuchtigkeit zu schützen ist.
Für Bastler die den zusätzlichen HDMI-Ausgang brauchen, sicherlich eine interessante Lösung.

Review: Das Modul kommt in einem kleinen Karton in LP-Folie verpackt mit einer kleinen Anleitung.
Sie wird einfach per USB an das Gerät
Unter Windows wird die Kamera direkt erkannt, und kann verwendet werden.
In entsprechender Software kann sie dann als Quelle ausgewählt werden.
Unter Windows kann die Kamera z.B einfach mit der integrierten “Kamera” App getestet werden.
Die Kamera unterstützt lt Herstellerangaben verschiedenerlei Bild- & Video-Auflösungen.
Die max Bildauflösung beträgt 1920x1200px.
Lt Beschreibung beträgt die maximale Videoauflösung ebenfalls 1920×1200 bei 90fps.
Meiner Recherche nach gibt es verschiedene Hersteller die diesen Sensor auf ähnlichen Modulen verwenden, die meisten sprechen allerdings von niedrigeren Bildraten in Verbindung mit diesem Sensor, obwohl auf der Webseite von Bildraten bis “[…]120fps, full resolution […] ” die Rede ist.
In meinem Test war ich in der Lage, kurze Videostreams mit 1920×1200@90fps zu starten, jedoch blieb die Bildrate nicht stabil, bewegte sich regelmäßig (teils deutlich) darunter.
Streams mit niedrigerer Auflösung (zB 1080p oder 720p) waren hier deutlich stabiler, doch auch hier schwankte die Bildrate etwas hin und her, aber nicht gravierend.
Die subjektive Wahrnehmung der Qualität im Bild & Videomodus war zufriedenstellend, wenn auch nicht überragend. Die Aufnahmen waren scharf, die Farben wirken, vor allem unter Einwirkung von natürlichem Sonnenlicht ziemlich blass.
Die Kamera ist zudem mit einer 126° Weitwinkel Linse ausgestattet, die den Aufnahmebereich erweitert, die Aufnahmen bekommen dadurch aber auch einen typischen Linseneffekt.
Die Bildqualität der Kamera insgesamt ist nicht überragend, aber meiner Meinung nach vollkommend ausreichend zB für DIY Projekte mit Bildverarbeitung
