Title: Super easy to set up and use with Apple HomeKit
Review: Reviewed June 2024:I have previously used similar from another manufacturer, they were Homekit compliant, but not compliant with the Matter ‘protocol’. These are, and I am assuming this compliance is what makes the difference with how easy this was to set up. No messing around with another 3rd party app to install on my phone just to set up and use, it really was ‘plug and play’.I used this in conjunction with one of those insect zappers where the insects are drawn to a light. (I’ve actually reviewed this a few years ago). We have this at the top of the stairs, and in the summer its a godsend with the reduction of mozzie bites.Now its switched on all the time on the actual device, and we just control it remotely using HomeKit using a combination of schedules and automation.- its switched on automatically at sunset and its switched off automatically at sunrise.- But, if the light starts to bother someone (my wife), she can switch it off remotely. Siri recognises it as the ‘mozzie zapper’ so the command ‘hey siri turn off the mozzie zapper’ does exactly that.For the record, the other 2 units we have are from Meross, they work fine, just clunky to set up. One is connected to the (wifi) printer, and the other to an external hard disk drive that we use for streaming movies to the TV. Both items are off more than they are on.I would certainly buy these again if there is the use case for another.

Title: Works Well
Review: This plug is fantastic because of its Alexa compatibility, allowing me to easily switch it on or off using voice commands. Additionally, its power monitoring feature is incredibly useful for tracking the energy usage of connected devices. I had purchased it to monitor the power consumption of my new fridge freezer but the added benefit of remote control through the Alexa app made the EIGHTREE Matter Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring a valuable addition to my smart home setup

Title: Quick setup, works well
Review: Very quick setup on my iPhone, no 3rd party app required. Just went through the Apple Home app and the plug was up and running in seconds. Works well with my tower fan plugged into it. Would recommend and I may buy more. Good size too, not too large.

Title: Great smart plug, especially for the price
Review: I was a bit hesitant to buy this smart plug as it was not only lower cost compared to other smart plugs but seemed physically smaller than the others too, which I thought that might mean it was lower quality. But I was pleasantly surprised that on opening it actually feels very high quality and I suspect the reason itâ€™s smaller is because it supports the new universal Matter standard so doesnâ€™t need as much complexity for wider compatibility as older smart plugs did.Setup was a breeze and I was able to add it to my Apple Home setup straight away. Working very smoothly and fast. Still brand new but any issues in future and Iâ€™ll update my review.

Title: Easy to set up and provided good power usage stats
Review: I bought this plug not for the WiFi connectivity and the ability to be lazy, but to monitor when my sump pumps come on.Setting it up was fairly easy. I plugged it in and pressed the connectivity button and then used the QR reader facility in Alexa to connect.I then found that the data shared with Alexa is useless. All you can do is switch the plug on and off. Somewhere I read that you can only connect to one hub. However I had a go at connecting to the Smart Life app I have. I found you had to unplug the plug and then start the connect process again. The Smart app picked it up straight away and connected immediately. It is now connected to both Alexa and to the Smart App.The great thing about the latter is that you get hourly usage data and I can see to the hour when my sump pump runs. This is exactly what I was wanting.

Title: Useful smart plugs
Review: Two smart plugs with power usage tracking.I found these very easy to set up. Having plugged them into the power socket, you simply press the and hold the single button on the side to initiate pairing. Using a Google Pixel, this automatically triggered a pairing prompt on the phone without further input allowing me to add the device to Google Home.Once configured, you can toggle the device power from the app or via Assistant voice commands. They seem very responsive with minimal delay. The button on the side of the device can also be used to toggle the power physically.Having said that, this was not my preferred method to configure these plugs. This is more of a complaint about Google Home, but that app provides zero functionality to monitor the power usage which I was very interested in.Instead, I opted to re-pair the plug with Smart Life, an app by Chinese IoT manufacturer Tuya. This app provides power monitoring and consumption tracking, at the expense of having *yet another* smart home app on my phone.It is not possible to have the plugs paired with Smart Life and Google Home simultaneously. However, it is possible to link your Smart Life account with Google and share the devices that way.Despite this somewhat convoluted setup, I still found the process pretty simple. Overall, definitely recommended.
