Title: DOES NOT HAVE WIFI!!!
Review: I almost threw it in the bin, this is the most expensive printer I have ever bought… I bought it off the back of a printer comparision review and to save money on constantly buying printer cartridges. I wish I had read some of the customer reviews. It seems other customers are as shocked as I that this printer only has last centurary conectivity via a “cable” there is no connection to WIFI, even my washing machine has wifi (god knows why). I bought the printer to be in a spare room so that everyone could use including me from my desktop, now everyone has to go in to the spare room and connect their laptop to the “cable”It’s a good printer and no doubt I will save a fortune on cartridges but I really just want to thow it in the bin.UPDATE:Nope, I’ve had enough!!!!After not being able to connect several times despite being connected via an old fashioned cable, I’ve finally had enough of this totally rubbish piece of last century junk, it’s gone in to the bin where it belongs. Never buying Cannon again. Just bought an EPSON.

Review: Canon Pixma 1520 Rechargeable Inkjet PrinterThe main selling point of this printer is low cost, high-capacity operating. The inks are held in reservoirs filled from separate bottles instead of pre-filled cartridges. The design is clever, allowing you to charge the inks from bottles with unique grooved tops that makes it impossible to mix them up. The reservoirs hold a lot more ink than small cartridges, and the bottles seem about the same price, so if you do print a lot these are in theory much more cost effective. They’re certainly better than combined colour cartridges, where the magenta, cyan or yellow colour running out means any unused ink in the other two has to be wasted.Pros are that the quality of print is excellent, as expected from Canon, and the speed of print is indeed fast. The slate grey colour is quite stylish too, making it feel more like an item designed for homes than offices.Cons are that while it’s an A4 printer, it has the footprint of an A3 one – it is huge! It also makes a clanking, rattling racket while it prints, enough to drown out the telly! It is also cable-connected only, not wi-fi, so that needs to be kept in mind.Whether this is the printer for you depends on your use. If you do the odd but of printing, there are smaller, cheaper alternatives. If you need lots of prints cost-effectively, this is a good option (it claims to be able to do 10,000 colour pages on a single charge).

Title: Doesn’t work; Canon’s support useless
Review: I tried for three weeks to get this printer to work. Over that time I had eight phone calls with Canon’s support team, and they were of no help whatsoever. I had bought this printer to use with my iMac desktop.I eventually found that it is supposed to be an AirPrint compatible printer, (Apple’s built in printer driver) though this information cannot be found online anywhere, including on Canon’s website.Most of their support team didn’t know this either. They also didn’t bother to tell me I needed a wireless router, so I had to get that sorted out too; more time wasted.I’m sending it back. In fairness this supplier (Kikatek) did dispatch the printer quickly and it arrived when promised.I’ve had Canon printers ever since I had my first computer, but I’ll never buy another one. While this may well be a one off problem, I don’t want anything to do with products that have such poor back up.

Title: Great print quality, fast print output and a huge number of prints!
Review: Canon, for years have been my first choice. In my line of work, I’m always having to print photographs and time is of the essence. This G1520 model prides itself on being a high-speed printer while producing wonderfully high-resolution images at 4800 x 1200 dpi.It can print huge yields of up to 12,000 pages from 2 black ink bottles and 7,700 pages from EACH colour bottle! It’ll be more than enough to keep me going for years!Although the G1520 isn’t marketed as a ‘photo’ printer, it’s certainly has the pedigree to compete right at the top. The only downside with this model is that it has no WiFi connectivity, just a USB cable. It doesn’t affect me, as it’s always wired to a workstation, but can imagine some people would want this feature.I’ve tried some test prints on Canon’s own photo paper plus and glossy photo paper. Print quality is exceptional with photos looking like they’ve been printed in a lab! Replacement inks are very reasonable, so long term running costs will be low!A highly recommended printer from a brand you can trust.
