Title: Nice looking toaster, functions well but no crumb tray.
Review: This toaster is sturdy and nice to look at. The colour is nice and fingerprints don’t tend to show up as it isn’t high gloss. It has different settings including reheat which is handy. Good value for money, apart from the crumb tray (see below). As a 4 piece toaster, it is a little on the large side but not a problem if you have a fair amount of surface space. It is easy to use, although you must have the right hand side toaster in use before you can use the left hand side, otherwise the lever won’t stay down.It is very quiet and can only be heard when releasing the toast. My only issue is that there is not crumb tray that can be removed to clean. This is a little problematic as crumbs end up collecting in the base with no way to remove them. I ended up tipping it upside down, but I can still see and hear pieces knocking around inside.

Title: A toaster that’s fundamentally poor at toasting
Review: Half decent looks although looks a bit cheap out of the box.Ease if use – pretty goodToasting bread – awful.Uneven – one side burned and the other barely done. Toasts a fine outer layer of bread and underneath hardly done. Try and remedy this by increasing time and it burns.Wouldn’t recommend. Kettle in this range equally useless.

Title: Annoying limitations
Review:  1. Breville Aura 4 Slice Toaster:Before you buy this toaster you may wish to consider these annoying limitations:1. You cannot use the left side on it’s own.2. You can only use the right side on it’s own.3. You can only use the left side with the right side – as they are locked together.4. You cannot eject the left side on it’s own.5. You use the eject button for both sides.These limitations will be fine for people who always make 4 pieces of toast, but for those of us who most often make two pieces of toast at a time, this toaster is going to wear out faster on the right side (as the heating elements break down), as the left side cannot be used on it’s own to even out the wear. This will shorten the life of this toaster.This toaster also smelt of plastic for the first few uses until it had burnt off. This is normal.This toaster also takes twice as long than my previous Russell Hobs toaster.I won’t be getting a Breville toaster next time.2. Breville Aura Electric Kettle:The fill level window is useless for less than 4 mugs of water, because it is behind the handle and too high up to view lower water levels. The light doesn’t come on until it’s switched on to boil, by which time you’ve already filled the kettle with water anyway.This kettle also gave boiled water a nasty metal taste for the first few uses until I had giving it two doses of bicarbonate soda. This is normal (apparently).
