Title: Handy, unique tool.
Review: Handy little saw – purchased for home use, sits in a little niche where you perhaps want to cut thin sheet, up to 13mm but I’m using it for no more than 6mm, without having a hulking great circular saw that also eats several mm out of your material, and makes a mess of veneer, potentially.I have used this on thin MDF, 6mm WPB ply, and 6mm real wood veneer ply, and it makes brilliant clean cuts.My only tip for new users is to have a go on a scrap piece first, it DOES have a slightly odd ‘kickback’ that is very different to a circular saw, and needs a bit of getting used to before you ruin a work piece! However, once you do get used it it, it’s not an issue.The only downside is that dust is whooshed out everywhere, probably more than a jig or circular saw, but it does have a dust port if you want to give it a go with an extractor. (There is a dust collection pot available from Bosch, but reviews for it are not great).

Title: Unique, Handy Circular Saw for Ripping MDF or Ply
Review: The Bosch PKS 16 looked to be the best option for ripping MDF before ripping smaller, thinner stips and it does just that beautifully. Also, thanks to the 2mm thick blade it cuts really well with zero defects leaving a smooth and clear finish.What’s more impressive – and more important to me – is it picks up pretty much 100% of MDF dust, and the dust that gets stuck under the steel base can just be collected later.It’s got a bit of weight to it so you’ll have no problem keeping it firmly face down on the surface. The cut adjustment stop is not accurate by all means but its so quick and easy to use you’ll figure out the correct depth of cut with no problem.I suppose my only negative is the hose attachment does tend to twist around well I rip and sometimes will pop out of its attachment. Mind you this could entirely be my workshop setup being a bit tight for space.Unlike the usual circular saw widely available, this one is smaller, narrower and more light weight, but vitally the plunge before you rip features insures you can cut from a flat surface unlike starting from a clear edge.You’ll find it incrediblely hard to injure yourself on this saw which as been made to keep your hands safe.

Title: Excellent little saw
Review: This has been very handy. Quality is good, heavy and solid construction, feels more like a professional tool. However, there are pros and cons:Good:- Easy to use, powerful- Makes plunge cuts in many materials with no problems.- You can cut bricks with the ceramic disk which is included. Useful for starting off a back box for a socket, better than an angle grinder for this- Makes nice, straight and clean cuts. You can be pretty accurate with it – I used a sharpie to make the marks on the side more visible.- You can attach a hoover which is good for reducing dustBad:- Does not go very deep. Not deep enough to cut all the way through most Ikea furniture. But it can get most of the way, and you can finish with a handsaw which is very quick.- You cannot cut very close up to a wall i.e. perpendicular, because the blade is a fair distance from the front of the saw.Overall however, excellent little saw with many uses fr the DIY enthusiast, probably useful for pros as well.

Title: Useful for Cutting Moderately Thin Material
Review: The saw feels solidly built and is very useful for cutting laminate, plywood etc. The overall circular saw blade diameter is 65mm so you need to be aware that this is suited to cutting material which is 15mm or less in thickness because the depth adjustment only goes to15mm. The saw comes with a plastic carrying case which is a bonus and 3 different circular saw blades included. Very different from a jigsaw in the sense that the circular saw blade is set back some way from the line guide at the front of the saw. Gives a nice clean cut.

Title: Cutting through the floor
Review: I made the mistake of buying a bandsaw at first, to cut laminated flooring. Then came to my senses and saw this at a good price, my effort level has reduced with the simplicity of this tool. Really do recommend this for flooring and thin panels.

Title: Not value for money. Paying for the name really.
Review: It’s okay. Just that. Anything thicker than 6mm ply, it struggles. Seems to cut accurately enough, but ther are better ones, although they do cost more. It seems that Bosch as a name for power tools, has taken a critical nosedive in recent years, much of their stuff being made in China, with all the poor quality and cheap material usage that that entails.
