Title: Cheap and cheerful but great value for money
Review: Threw out my old soldering iron last winter; hadn’t used it for years and then, naturally, needed one this week for a repair on a light circuit board. Bought this; did the job. It’s not for the professional or anything complex but for quick simple repair it was fine.

Title: Product works fine, but not suitable for my purpose.
Review: The product works fine and arrived in good condition but is not suitable for my purpose.I was planning to use it for mounting RC car battery leads, not exactly delicate work and I’ve done plenty of it before, but I found it hard to work with. It may be good for other types of soldering, but for me it gets way too hot (literally red hot) and is unwieldy because of it’s size. I realise the nib can be changed for another, but the point also makes it difficult to manipulate the molten solder.

Title: good and cheap
Review: very quick delivery. Used for some 40A cable in the car. Warms up quickly and fairly comfortable to use. May be useful to have other heads such as the flat ones often available. Glows slightly red when up to temp so if you are used to a normal 25W iron this may be slightly alarming! Solder will also melt much more quickly and cable insulation can also melt if the iron is kept in one place too long. Also, use a wet (not damp) pad for wiping excess solder, due to the higher temp.No real complaints – perhaps the stand could be more sturdy, takes a bit of time to warm up and cool down, but for the price you cant grumble.
