Title: Excellent kindle and a bunch more
Review: I’ve had a Kindle Paperwhite for a few years, and love it. Light weight, decent screen, good battery life but… it’s just an ebook reader. So I thought I’d try this instead. Similar size, heavier and the battery & screen aren’t as good if you just want an e-reader. But the screen and battery are pretty good when just reading and you can switch in seconds to watching videos or reading the news, use it as a small notepad or grab your email, then flip back to reading. I know all that is pretty obvious but it just made this 8″ tablet the perfect travelling companion for me.On a personal note, the Kindle’s operating system never seemed intuitive for me, unlike even Amazon’s version of Android, and the usb-c port was the killer blow.

Title: Amazon Fire 8 HD Plus
Review: Got these ( purchased two ) on a prime deal to replace two 6 year old Amazon Fire 7’s which have served us well when reading books only…These replacements can do a lot more far quicker which is a bonus and the larger screen allows for more words to a page when reading books thus saving a lot of page turning…small things…picture quality is marginally better and so far battery life seems good although I haven’t had it that long to check that aspect of it out.. The back is also alot grippier which helps of you don’t have it in a case.Well worth the prime price and I suppose even at full price when compared with the price of an iPad ( other makes exist) although the 2022 iPad 10.9†is heavily discounted at the moment but still three times the price…So the Amazon Fire 8 HD Plus has a place in the tablet market

Title: Efficient and surprisingly good
Review: Im comparing this to a lenovo chrome tablet I recently returned. I think this is a lot better, the screen is more responsive with less lag. Speakers very good quality. Ill be honest amazon app store is rubbish – but its very easy to load APK files, which you cant do on chrome os anymore. If you dont really like google, and dont need the features of an ipad, this is great frankly. Charging is ok, not that fast. I have not fully charged up yet so cant comment on battery life. Silk browser is really fast and well optimised, and if offers to disable alexa with a pop up, thats so nice compared to having to mess with developer options to disable and enable stuff. Its kinda of funny that fire os has become one of the least obtrusive with google and microsofts actions, ill probably stick with kindle fires for any tablet needs in future. Recommended 9/10, only avoid if you need play services in full or heavy app usage like photo editing, then youll need to spend a lot more anyway.

Title: Decent tablet
Review: Quality wise, it’s a very decent tablet with bright screen and colours. It’s lightweight and quite fast when loading websites or apps. I personally preferred a larger screen, so I had to return it and buy the excellent 10inch HD Fire tablet instead. But this is a very decent tablet in terms of performance, as long as you don’t mind the rather small screen size

Title: Fantastic quality for the price
Review: I bought this little tablet reduced to £61 during the Black Friday sale. It’s really good. Well worth the full price, never mind the price I paid. This is a lovely mid-sized tablet. It comes in a neat box with the only plastic packaging a bag around the device itself, something that’s required in the shipping of items with inbuilt batteries. The tablet is accompanied by a charger plug and USB-C cable, though you need your own wireless charger. I have an Otterbox charging pad that this seems to work with happily enough. The back of the tablet has a dimpled texture all over. The housing is made from plastic that feels quite soft to touch and is not slippery. I opted for preregistration associating this with my account. This still required router password access and sign-in passwords, but no fiddling about with finding and adding serial numbers. If I’d wanted to set this up as a child’s device, this would have been easy to do, with prompts included as part of the setup process. The screen quality is really very good. It doesn’t quite have the sharpness of the display on my iPad, but it’s not far off and since this cost a small fraction of the iPad price I’m quite impressed with it. The audio quality is good for a tablet. Playback of videos is excellent – good, sharp, crisp images and clear sound. The cameras are pretty good, coping well in natural daylight and yielding decent quality images and videos. Screen rotation is quick, if a little jerky. Browser performance is fast. This is a feature-packed device, with plenty of Apps pre-installed including the Silk browser, Prime Video, and Kindle apps. One thing I wasn’t so impressed by was that sign-ups to Audible and Kindle Unlimited were pushed as part of the setup process – it would not be hard to sign up accidentally.
