Title: Does not measure AC
Review: I tested a number of power adapters and it struggled to give any readings whether in auto mode or AC mode. Only useful for measuring batteries, that’s the only thing that worked. Returned. Bought a different model that works fine.

Title: Reasonable measuring tool but poor user explanations in operating manual
Review: This tool is let down by the poorly written operating manual which is difficult to understand. In auto mode it easily measures voltages or resistance (resistance if the voltage present is less than 0.8v). These functions can also be selected manually. I have not used the diode test which can only be manually selected. I compared the readings with a digital multimeter and the readings were quite similar.The explanation of NCV/LIVE functions is very poor. There are options to select EF or Live but does not explain what these are testing. Also when using the Non Contact Voltage (NCV) functions it says it will emit different sounds but does not explain what the sounds mean. AC and DC do sound different when detected. It does seem quite sensitive as it even picked up speaker cables that were in use.It is handy for testing batteries and fuses.

Title: Convenient and performs as advertised
Review:  I received the product recently and haven’t used it very much yet. It does what it is supposed to do, and is easy to read and use. Form factor makes it easy to see a reading while taking it; no need to find a place to perch the meter. Comes complete with batteries and test leads. – Hard to fit everything in the supplied storage.-By the way, there is lag at auto mode.

For example, the first sentence is:”6000counts is a pocket 3 5/6 true effective value, pen type intelligent multi meter”. whatever that means!But, once you play with it and sort through the manual you’ll find a nice little meter that is actually very useful.What you get: The package includes a case, the multimeter, ground cable, AAA battery, and the manual.Functions: It actually has some cool functions. Here’s my understanding based on using it for a bit.AUTO: In this mode the meter detects the usage (DC / AC) and displays the valueDC V: The symbols are small but you can see this. In this mode it measures DC voltage. you’ll need to use the ground cable.AC V: The symbols are small but you can see this. In this mode it measures AC voltage. you’ll need to use the ground cable.Ohm (Omega Symbol): Measure resistanceDiode symbol: used for testing diodes, to stay the obvious.Pressing the lower N/V button, cycles through the other 2 functions:EF: detects Electric Fields, no ground wire needed. Using this mode you can bring the tip close to a wire and it will detect whether the wire is live or not. I tested this function on house voltage AC and a bunch of DC wires like: USB cable, usb charger, etc. This mode is good for tracing live wiresLIUE (LIVE): In this mode it behaves like an electrician AC detector. Touch the tip to a wire and it will beep if the wire is live.I have had cases where I needed to trace an insulated wire to see if it has electricity and this little device is perfect for that.For this price of $16, this is a bargain.

Review: I like it automatically switches ACV/DCV/Ohms. At the same time it can be manually set to those and to measure Diode open voltage in addition.I don’t like the tip plastic cover is hard to remove to reach into connections hidden deeper, but durable with effort.
