Title: Not easy to set up
Review: Hubby had trouble getting this to work with the app but it eventually connected. You can just turn it on with a switch, you don’t have to use an app, but the app gives you a breakdown of how it’s working and it’s telling us that our air is very good. You also need the app if you want to use it as an ioniser. I don’t want to mess around with all that, I like to just plug it in and switch it on and have done with it. Hubby doesn’t mind messing about with this kind of thing but even he was getting close to calling it a day with this. Now it’s sorted and it seems we can just turn it on and I don’t need him to be here with his phone in order to make it work, it’s all good. It is very quiet, you can hear it but you can’t hear it over the top of the telly or anything like that. It puts out a bit of a breeze at the top but it doesn’t feel too hot or too cold, so it’s not warming the house up in this current heatwave and I don’t expect it to make it colder in the wintertime. It is quite big, so make sure you measure up and have enough room for it. We’ve got it in the dinning room at the moment because that’s more of a living room for us, but it will go in the hall when we’ve finished playing with it as that is central to our house and should treat the whole house there. It is also quite light, so no big deal if you do need to move it around from room to room. We’ll do each room first then pop it in the hall when everywhere is done and leave it on there all the time. I’ve included a screenshot of the app.

Review: When it is on smart and the air quality is very bad it dose not move from speed 1 I have to manually turn up the fan speed.

Title: Video demonstration
Review:  The AEG AX71-304GY Air purifier is easy to set up and control. The power cable is approximately 205 cm in length. The air purifier breaks down into four separate pieces, Which I have demonstrated in my included video. The box also contains two screwing rubber feet and a wall mounting bracket, Which gives you the opportunity to either wall mount it or have it free standing in a room which makes it more portable. I personally have gone for freestanding, Because over the last year or so my parents have been suffering with some sort of allergy which we possibly think it’s now hay fever. This model is approximately 21.3 x 48 x 57.9 cm and weighs 6 kg approximately. The purifier can be controlled manually and by the AEG well-being app. I am using it from the touch controls on the actual air purifier, Which are simple and easy to use. You have two modes which is a smart mode or manual and I personally have left it in SmartMode just to let the purifier do what it has to do itself. The LED panel displays the air quality with a green for being good and red for being bad. There is five levels of fan speed which you can manually adjust by the touch slider. The air purifier noise is very quiet on low speed and noticeable but not noisy on high speed which I have included with my demonstration to show you the difference in sounds.If you’re going to be using the purifier as my parents will be without the app which does give you more information, but the display on the device shows you when the filter needs changing and if there is any alerts. The filter says it should last approximately 24 months running at 12 hours a day, But I’m guessing that will be on variable air quality conditions so may fluctuate a little. I have tested the air purifier in my bedroom to see how it works and if I would notice any difference in the air quality. I powered it on and left it on SmartMode which immediately after some analysing it came up with a red displays showing that the air quality was obviously poor. I close the bedroom door and left it running for a couple of hours and then returned and I could tell the difference between entering the room and being in the bedroom. The difference in quality of air felt much lighter and pure to breathe. My parents are now enjoying cleaner and fresher air. I hope you have found my video and review helpful.

Title: Excellent unit let down by controls
Review: This unit replaced an earlier Levolt unit. Noise-wise it is remarkable. Even at full power it is quieter than the old unit on minimum, and most of the time the only way to check it is running is to hold a hand over the vent. It does a great job, moving large volumes of air and keeping our bedroom habitable even in peak pollen season. The filters are easy to access as the front panel is held with magnets. The wall mount is very basic – just a hook under a slot on the back – and we’re a little worried it is insufficiently secure but so far no accidents.Getting it set up was a challenge, though, Despite the price, there is no remote control supplied so you have to use a phone. Installing the app was easy (note they have restricted it geographically so if you have a US Google account the app is not found). Registering the unit is done by scanning a bar-code, and you then give the unit access to your wifi. All good and petty straightforward. However, we found the unit is VERY picky about wifi signal strength and we struggled to find an orientation where it reliably got enough signal to work, despite having mesh wifi at home with signal you can cook by. We had to re-register the device multiple times to get control of it again but finally found a spot in the bedroom where it stayed connected. Because this is such a trial-and-error process it is perfectly possible you won’t be able to find a place where it stays connected, and without any other remote control (just very basic manual touch controls) that makes it useless if it happens.In use, it is set-and-forget. We have programmed it to come on about an hour before bed time and to turn off the following morning at latest-go-out time. It is completely silent in use once it has got the air clean – the fan speed drops. The green air quality light also goes out in the dark so your sleep is not compromised – a nice touch. The app has lots of data about air quality including several things the unit doesn’t actually affect (like VOC concentrations). It’s all detected via a sensor on one side of the unit so take care to keep that free of all obstructions. It also has a setting where it will emit ions in the air flow (which causes dust to get quickly settled and collected) which we hadn’t noticed from the text and really like.Overall I am now very happy with it, having run the setup gauntlet. It is MUCH better than the old Levolt unit. On balance, I would probably recommend it.

Review: Ich habe mir den Luftreiniger gekauft, da meine Wohnung eine ehemalige Raucherwohnung ist.Nun (inzwischen ca. 1-2 Monate in Gebrauch) habe ich wieder einen frischeren Geruch in der Wohnung beim Heimkommen. Der Geräuschpegel ist sehr leise und überhaupt nicht störend. Außerdem finde ich das Gerät auch leicht. Würde ich mir wieder kaufen. 🙂
