Title: Excellent M.2 SATA drive
Review: I’ve been using this in an Asus CN62 Chromebox running Windows 10. This is one of the few M.2 2242 SATA SSDs available (most are the superior NVMe type) and none of the big brands (Samsung, Crucial, etc) make them. So far (3 months in) it’s been working very well, with typical fast SSD performance, although the machine isn’t doing anything too taxing. If you need a SATA M.2 42mm drive, this is a great choice, from a reputable brand.Update: This has been running for over a year and a half now. It is in a low usage machine but is on 24/7. The drive was running very hot (60-70 C), but this is within the manufacturers limits (75 C) and it has had no ill effects yet. I purchased a small metal heatsink on ebay a few months ago, and with this fitted it’s running at 50-58 C.Update (2023): This has just been semi-retired as I’ve replaced the system it was in with a newer one. The drive has been running at 50-70C for 4 years and has 37,615 hours of uptime. Crystal disk info reports health at 98% due to 5.3 TB reads and 7.6 TB writes (3.8 TB NAND writes) with all erase/error counts at 100% health. Would definitely buy Transcend again, this has outlasted some Crucials and Samsungs for me!

Title: Hot, but good
Review: Probably one of the more respectable manufacturers in this size range. Used in HP 820 g1. As many have mentioned – it runs quite hot, especially when under full load. Out of the box it went as high as 86C during a 32gb crystal disk mark test, and was idling around 54C, which was quite unacceptable to me. As a result I applied this SSD with a thermal silicone pad and a copper heatsink. In the consecutive tests temperatures consistently stayed below 63C under full load and 40C at idle.The item arrived well packaged, and it delivers close to promised speeds. Installation was near effortless. It definitely runs hot, hence cooling solution is needed for longevity of the drive itself and the machine it is used in, but that’s to be expected given the m.2 factor and 2242 size.

Review: Bought this to build an external usb drive. For bootin various isos and linux operating systems. It works well. Drive speeds are as advertised. Iops capability is good. But while in heavy use creates heat a bit mor then expected.For buyers: you might want to buy a thermal pad and heat spreader with this.

Title: Fast!
Review: Installed to an old ThinkPad X250 i7 with 16GB RAM. Took literally 3 minutes. Rather than copy over from the old SSD I installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 20.04. Super-quick install and runs fast and smooth. Ok, sluggards like OpenOffice Writer and Firefox still take 3-4 seconds to load, but most software I use loads almost instantaneously, the Ubuntu UI takes no time at all to move around in, and code compilation is fast. Recommended.

Title: Just the job
Review: Bought this to replace a 32Gb SSD on a Dell Inspiron micro pc that failed after 3 years.Slotted it in, recognised straight away, restored Windows and all is good. An easy plug and play job and it’s working just fine.If thinking about buying an SSD just make sure it’s the right size: there are several different lengths….Think this is the latest version of this drive: see the Transcend website for further information on current products.

Review: I haven’t had this ssd for over a year and I don’t use it as my primary drive but so far it works great. Super easy to install, fast and great value for the money. I use this in combination with a sata ssd (boot disk) and a 7200 rpm hdd in a caddy in the optical drive bay. Lots of storage for not a lot of money.
