Title: Considerably easier to use than manual strippers
Review: I do a fair bit of prototype circuit construction and can end up using the thin breadboard patch leads when hard wiring a circuit (sometimes easier than ordering a new reel). Anyone who’s used those patch leads will know that it’s a fiddle sometimes, purely because of stripping back the insulation. I promised myself a pair of these to make life easier. They work well and now I don’t have to worry that one leg of a pair ends up being too short. Worth having for the time they save!There is a sliding strip length end stop which is moveable and has a hint of the stripped end length. The measurement isn’t particularly accurate so is only a rough guide. The end stop is a bit fiddly to get one’s fingers in to adjust, but we’re adults and can cope with getting a small screwdriver out to move it if we need to.They seem robustly made given the price and don’t feel flimsy. Time will tell as to how well they’ll wear. I’ll update the review if there are any issues.

Review: Both cuts and strips wire. Can cope with wire up to about 8mm so that’s most uses in the home. Certainly much easier than a stanley knife or regular wire strippers.

Title: GREAT ADDITION TO AUTO-ELECTRICS TOOLKIT FOR UNDER A TENNER!
Review: This automatic wire stripper is easy to use, and works a treat. Though of plastic construction, it seems really sturdy, and I expect it to last many years – especially as it won’t get a hammering from me! I used it for stripping 16SWG silicone covered wire, which it handled with ease – so much so that I even tried stripping three wires at once: also handled with ease! In fact, I reckon it would have handled four at a time – but I had already completed my task.There are other – more substantial (i.e. metal) – automatic wire strippers available, and some are also able to crimp connectors. For crimping, I prefer a ratcheting tool, though, so there was no need to double my expenditure for that extra function – especially when the crimper I already have is more than satisfactory, in every way.In all, I thoroughly recommend this automatic wire stripper.

Title: Great value but you did get what you pay for
Review: I only paid a tenner for this and for that price it’s a nice little tool that does the job well enough though with a few small issues. It’s well enough made and I only strip wires a few times a year, that I’ll happily use it and not get anything better.The first issue is that depth stop is quite stiff to move and you have to work it back and forth for a while until you can reliably move it to the right place. The second is that it sometimes strips at a slight angle, enough to notice if you’re working on thin wire like 18awg. The third is that setting the depth is a complete guess as the knob just turns both ways and nothing seems to move. It actually feels more like tightening the strength of cut not the depth.Finally just to note that the design of all strippers like this is that you can’t see the cutter and it’s easy to cut at an angle.

Review: In my line of work I need to strip a lot of single and multicore core cables, of various diameters. I’ve used many types of cable strippers over the years and this type makes a useful addition to my toolbox.Time will tell regarding durability, but early signs are good.
