Zyklop Speed Ratchets
Featuring Wera’s famous Kraftform handle. Like no other, the Kraftform handle is shaped to perfectly fit the hand for the best possible screw-driving experience. The multi-component design features hard zones for rapid working speeds and also softer gripping zones that provides high torque transfer and extreme comfort during intensive use. Wera’s Kraftform handle – makes blisters and calluses a thing of the past. Zyklop Speed ratchet heads pivot freely, meaning it can be locked into any pre-defined position using the slide switch. Predefined locking at 0° allows the ratchet to be used as a conventional screwdriver with the attachment of a bit holding adaptor and bit. Additional locking points at 15° and 90° both to the left and right ensure safe working without any slipping of the ratchet head. Combine the features of the Kraftform handle, a free-spinning sleeve and an impressive 72 fine-tooth ratchet mechanism… Zyklop Speed ensures fast and precise working in all situations. Simple clockwise/anti-clockwise direction change by using the thumbwheel. The ball lock mechanism securely holds sockets for safe working, with easy removal via pressing the release button on the back of the ratchet head.

Review: I mainly bought this set to try the ratchet out. At the time of buying (from Amazon) the ratchet was about £55 and this full set was £67. It was therefore a no brainer to get the set. The ratchet is very nice and has some really nice features. The other bits were all very well made. I’m not that impressed with the fabric case though as the loops to put the items in are sometimes too loose and sometimes too tight. For instance, it’s a hassle to feed the ratchet in though two fairly tight elasticated loops. The loops for the sockets are a bit tight for the bigger 13mm socket and then a bit loose for the smaller 5.5mm socket. I realise that it must be very difficult to make all the loops exactly the correct size for what they hold just because elastic is hard to set / sew. This type of case is useful to just chuck into a bag compared to say a hard case, however, it is more fiddly to get the bits you need out of this type of case. One other dissapointment is the etching on the sockets and screwdriver bits is quite faint. It’s a shame Wera couldn’t have worked harder to make the writing darker. Also, the sockets don’t have the sizes (writing) printed in the same place. This doesn’t matter if you have this sockets in elasticated loops, but if you were putting them on a socket rail you would at least have expected to have all the writing facing the same way. If you look at pictures of Wera 1/4″ sockets where they are mounted on a rail, it shows the writing facing the same way, however, this is not the case with my ones. Apart from that, I like it.

Review: Paired this kit with a pliers wrench and some needle nose pliers from Knipex and that has just enough capability to fix most things I come across. Prices fluctuate wildly on here; can be had for less than sixty £60. Quality is good (manufactured in Taiwan these days….

Title: Amazing Ratchet Set.
Review: Now that I’ve had a few months with this ratchet set, the quality and versatility have really come through. I’ve gone through quite a few ratchet sets in the past – but this is my first from Wera and I’m expecting years of use from this product, and tbh, I see no reason why I won’t get it. It’s expensive, but then if you are considering Wera then the cost should not be surprising. It is surprisingly small, and my first impression was concern around if it was strong enough for my purposes, but to be fair it has done everything asked of it. I am not a professional DIYer, but for most if not all household jobs you would be hard pressed to need anything else. Buy with confidence.
