Title: Not powerful enough
Review: This is just about powerful enough to melt new solder but would not melt existing solder joints. I ordered a mains powered iron and had much better results for half the price.

Title: Excellent for small electronics tasks.
Review: Excellent little soldering iron for such a low voltage, but does struggle with transferring sufficient heat to larger cables compared to a mains one. Definitely good for those small jobs or electronic PCB’s etc….

Title: Not the quality I was expecting or the method of charging
Review: The soldering iron arrived a few hours ago. On opening the package I was disappointed with the quality, but the biggest problem for me was the method of charging. I had expected it to charge while in the stand, and through the stand, as is the case for the SDL6. Unfortunately it uses a nasty USB charger, plugged into the back of the iron.This leaves a dangling lead out of the back of the iron when in the stand, the stand function being only to providing support.Since this was intended as a replacement for a portable NiCd soldering iron that sits on my lab bench, that charges when the bench is on, this unit is unsuitable.I suspect that the USB socket on the iron will be a point of failure, so I am sending it back unused.

Title: Cheap unreplaceable soldering tips
Review: Soldering tip burnout on first use, lost all its plating. Contacted Sealey regarding ordering new tips and was told they are sold out with no confirmed date to when they will be back in stock. Terrible product, do not recommend buying.
