Title: Sits well on a curved monitor
Review: I wanted a webcam that I can use as a head tracking device, I know a bit basic, but it works, main thing hereCamera qulaity is ok, not like it is advertised at 4k, but it does the jobI would recommend this

Title: Well Pleased
Review: Well pleased with how easy it was to use and set up.Picture quality is very good, colour quality very good.The icons at the front light up to say its working, But no on / off button !I like to see when its working and be able to switch it off and on independant why .. well i want to know if anyone can remotly use it, in this day and age ciber spying is on the increase.If a red light was on it would show it was in use ! you only get a green switch on/off light that is not actualy a switch and does not alter when in use .. A bit strange.You do get a blue light that says speaker is on (I think thats what its for) although both these lights are very dim. see first picture the second shows a bright green light when my own laptop camera is on., quite visable.The only other little gripe is how it just sits on the lap top

Title: Good price and nice and sharp – but colour/focal length is not great.
Review: I’ve been using a well known make 1080p video camera since lockdown and so this camera seemed like a good replacement/upgrade. I still WFH quite a lot and so a good quality video webcam is important to me – a lousy online camera image just looks horrible and unprofessional.This camera is an immediate improvement over my current camera – everything looks much much sharper and more detailed … although I do notice a little more “noise” when blowing up the image to full screen. It really is just plug and play – mount it at the top of your monitor (the mounting “clip” is nicely padded and so it will not scratch your monitor and the front lip is small enough to not cover any of your on-screen image. I used this on my M-series Mac mini…. and the it was immediately recognised as a camera by applications like QuickTime and Photo Booth!In use, the camera has a more wide-angle image than my current camera .. ie it picks up more of my room background and straight lines towards the sides of the image appear curved. Also the colour is very pink tinted and certainly not neutral. The camera has a built in microphone and that works pretty well.I ran the Webcamtest website to check out the camera and it saw the default 2560×1440 resolution (3.69Mp)… which certainly explains the improved sharpness/detail over my current 1920×1080 resolution camera. However the overall pink/warm tint and the more wide angle lens kind of outweighs this benefit in my opinion. If this webcam had a driver application then although the set up might be a little more demanding there would be a potential to adjust the zoom and colour balance. I tried using the free Camera Controller utility app from Github … and this let me adjust the colours a little, but it doesn’t allow Zoom etc.You may find some other “in-between” software that will enable you to tweak the colour balance and zoom etc – but without this I am removing a few stars from this review. Good price and nice and sharp – but colour/focal length is not great.

Title: Good picture quality at this price point
Review: I’ve been happily suprised by this Webcam, being an upgrade for me from my now antique 480 Webcam from a decade ago, however the advertised 2K quality may or may not be there.Build wise, the Webcam emplyes basic plastic construction, in this case, leaning towards the more cheap feeling plastics side of things and this is obvious to touch and weight as it is quite light, a plus point I suppose if you intend to carry this arround though I don’t imagine most would. That said, it still feels sturdy enough to me and considering it’s likely to be set up and not touched again for ages, I can’t really complain here. Build quality is allright :)More importantly, the picture quality is alright too. As mentioned, for me, funnily enough coming from an aging 480p Webcam, this is an upgrade and still working from home, my colleagues have immediately noticed the drastic difference over Teams meetings. I haven’t managed perform any technical tests to properly confirm whether the camera actually outputs a 2K resolution, however seeing as I used 2K monitors, I’d have to say that I’ve a little doubtful about the advertised 2K quality. Don’t get me wrong, at this price, I still think this Webcam is a steal 🙂 however it seems to feels to me more akin to a 1080p experience. It’s also worth noting (though honestly like most cameras) that it performs better in better/higher lighting conditions as opposed to darker conditions where more grain is introduced into the picture. I have provided some pictures taken WITH this webcam in average/medium light conditions for reference.All that said, overall, I am very happy with this Webcam and it 100% will be an upgrade for anyone coming from a much older cam and certainly at this price. If however you are looking for Twitch Stream quality 2K or better, then I would keep looking. I will however give plus points to this Webcam for also having a tripod adapter on the bottom of its mount which would come in handy if you have that kind of setup. 🙂
