Review: The Samsung T7 is an excellent, quick, and small hard drive when on the move.I shoot many photos in a day when out on shoots and need to back them up quickly on site via my Macbook. The T7 does this very well. Being so small it also packs into my camera bag taking up little space.I’ve found the Samsung drives to be reliable and haven’t had a problem with the ones I own.

Title: Outstanding- super fast and very lightweight.
Review: I was actually blown away by the size and weight of this awesome little drive. It is perfect for backing up and storing huge files. I’m a Mac user so I immediately threw out the bundled software and reformatted this drive for mac (recommended) I am also not able to give my opinion on the software or encryption tools because I don’t use them. I plan to use this drive to store photos and back up of non-sensitive personal files like wedding movies and photos. I want them to be available (preserved) for as long as possible so encryption with software seemed like a bit of a risk for long term access.It’s lightning fast (assuming you have a good computer with the latest usb connections. )The quality of the cables included seems good and there is nothing unusual or “bespoke†about the connections so you can always replace the cables. As always I would be carful when plugging in and out any cables because the “plug†on the drive will not last forever. But if you look after it and take care when plugging in and out it will last pretty well, I hope ?.Highly recommended.

Title: Fantastic upgrade from my HDD but potential packaging flaw
Review: So I have an external HDD for my laptop that has failed a couple of times now. I’m getting fed up of running Dsk chk as it’s a 4TB drive and takes about 3 days to complete! I decided it was finally time to bite the bullet and get an SSD, as I suspect the damage gets done because the drive gets moved or knocked about. The data on it is mostly games and non-essentials but I’d rather not lose it all.This is a very expensive drive for me to consider buying but I was swayed by the positive reviews, so I was anxious about what I’d get! I must say, I love how small and light it is! It’s ideal for me, as I am always moving it about; there are no internal moving parts to knock about and it’s so much less clunky than my HDD. This means I’ve actually been able to pop it into a pouch on the back on my monitor, which really improves mobility and security.I’ve not had a chance to use it excessively yet and I can’t speak to it’s longevity but it’s nice and speedy.With its compact and light build, it’d be ideal for a range of uses, including for photographers, music in your car or phone backups – anything requiring portability really.The one flaw I have identified so far is not with the drive but with the packaging. The drive is sat loose in a small card tray (also loose) in the top of the inner box, with a cardboard ‘lid’ over it. This box then sits inside a card sleeve. The issue with this is that when you open the very swish outer box and slide the inner box out of the sleeve, if you aren’t holding it the right way up, the cardboard ‘lid’ flaps open and your very expensive new drive takes a nosedive to the floor – or into edge of the coffee table in my case. This seems pretty stupid to me, however it does mean I can vouch for the drive’s advertised impact/fall resistance.In summary, I would recommend this drive but I’d recommend you sit down to unpackage it!

Title: Small but mighty!
Review: Despite my mobile phone not recognising the hard drive was connected, a little trouble shooting sorted it out. Glad I went with the 2TB because I wanted to back-up all my photos and free up storage. About 1,500 pictures and videos have been transferred and the hard drive is 81% full. Great little hard drive!

Review: The external drive is very small and convenient. You can have it in your pocket without anyone seeing. The speed is absolutely amazing on my Mac. Absolutely love it. The only downside is the software is very buggy on a Mac but unless you need it then it’s just an extra.

Title: Brilliant device
Review: I now have four T5’s and this one T7. They are seriously the best drives ever. They mount quickly, unmount quickly. copying onto them is a dream, you can’t believe how fast it can transfer gigabytes, it takes seconds. These drives significantly outperform all other drives I have used. If you have a Samsung smartphone you can plug it straight into the phone and it mounts as an external drive, giving you access to all your files even on your phone. Of course, they ARE rather expensive, and the largest size is 2Tb. But they are coming down a lot in price in last 2-3 years. I am looking forward to 5Tb versions hopefully will be made. By the way, I have had numerous external HDs fail on me, but my first T5 bought about 5 years ago, performs like new and has never had any problems, neither have the others bought more recently. Nevertheless, I don’t trust any drives, and make multiple backups, even with these T5s and T7, but so far they have not let me down. Therefore, if you are willing to spend the money, these drives are certainly worth it.
