WHAT’S INSIDE THE PACK? – a closer look
2x 9″ emulsion rollers
Ideal for fast painting of walls and ceilings, these rollers are made from high quality woven fabric that sheds minimal fibres (pre-washing will help even more – see below), gives a high quality finish with minimal roller texture and is durable enough to be used again and again.
2x 4″ emulsion mini rollers
Ideal for smaller areas that wider rollers aren’t suitable for, as well as tricky spots like behind radiators and pipes, these mini rollers are made from durable woven fabric like the 9″ rollers.
9″ and 4″ roller frames
These push fit frames grip the rollers and hold them securely in place so they don’t slip and slide about while you’re painting, giving even application and a high quality finish.
1″ paint brush
Ideal for cutting in and touching up with emulsion, as well as applying gloss, satin, undercoat or primer, the All Purpose brush holds plenty of paint and gives a smooth stroke for a high quality finish.
9″ paint tray
Made from 100% recycled plastic, this tray features a textured anti-skid area that enables rollers to grip, giving even paint loading for smooth application. It has a low centre of gravity so it won’t easily tip over and spill paint.
Polythene dust sheet
Made from dustproof and waterproof LDPE material, the polythene sheet is lightweight and at 12′ x 9′ (3.7m x 2.7m) it drapes well over furniture of all shapes and sizes to protect against paint drips, splashes, spills, dust and dirt.
Paint stirrer
This handy stirrer enables you to keep paint the right consistency and mix in any stray tinter to prevent streaks in coloured paints. It’s also essential if any liquid has separated out when you first open the tin and will mix it back in quickly and efficiently.
GETTING THE BEST FROM YOUR PAINT ROLLER – useful tips that will save time and ensure you get the very best result for your hard work
1. Before the first use – Wash the roller in cold or tepid water to remove any loose fibres that would otherwise transfer onto the surface when painting. Remove excess water, stand the roller on its end and allow it to dry fully (ideally overnight) before using.
2. The first paint load – Allow the first paint load to soak down to the core by leaving it for 5-10 minutes. This will enable the roller to more quickly reach its paint holding capacity and maximise the amount you apply with each load, improving your painting efficiency.
3. Load the roller evenly – Load the roller with paint and use the roll-off area on the tray to distribute paint evenly across and around it. This will give even application on the surface and save you time by not having to roll out paint that would otherwise be just dumped on.
4. Cleaning after use – Remove as much paint from the roller as you can so as little as possible is wasted or goes into drainage systems. Wash emulsion paints and water-based gloss, satin and woodstains with warm (not hot) water, with a small amount of detergent if it helps. Wash solvent-based paints with white spirit – do not wash white spirit down sinks; use a container and appropriate gloves and dispose of the solvent carefully. Stand the roller on its end and allow it to dry fully (ideally overnight) before using again.
4x EMULSION ROLLERS AND FRAMES: Roller sets for painting emulsion paints, the 9” (225mm) paint rollers are ideal for walls and ceilings, and the 4” (100mm) mini rollers are ideal for smaller areas like behind radiators. PAINT BRUSH: The 1” (25mm) All Purpose paint brush is made from a trade quality mix of natural bristle and pure synthetic filaments, so it holds plenty of paint, and gives a smooth finish for wall paint
