Review: Good size shank which fits nicely in the drill and there was not slippage. Grabbed well when starting the cut (didn’t slide all over the tile), and it left a clean hole for the pipe to fit through. Not sure how many uses it will be good for as I’ve only used it once, maybe another uses on the thin tiles I used it on. It has great usage instructions on the site – so do consult those unless your absolutely know what you’re doing. Overall I’m really please with this, and for its price its a good buy.

Title: Not recommended for freehand use.
Review: I was surprised to find that this drill bit came without any form of pilot drill. Rereading the web page carefully convinces me that no pilot drill was offered or advertised and when I received the bit there is no receptacle for a pilot drill. It is clearly designed this way but I have to wonder why. It makes using the bit difficult. Yes, it can be used with a vertical or horizontal drill press. However, for freehand use it is a disaster, especially on slippery surfaces such as its intended target of the tiles in my new bathroom.The only solution I can come up with is to make a jig. Drill a 25mm hole in a plank of wood. Support the wood so its hole is the right height for the intended hole and have someone brace the plank in place while I drill.What a palaver. All because there is no pilot drill. I would not recommend this to anyone proposing to use it freehand.

Review: Easy to use and at a great price. This cutter does not have a pilot bit – most don’t. You hold it at a slight angle to the tile and start cutting until it bites. When there is a slight grove then you angle it to 90degrees to cut the whole. Cut through bathroom tiles with no problem. Best to spray water or cutting agent to keep it cool.
