Title: Premium feeling wok for large meals
Review: Iâ€™ve used cheaper woks in the past which have been fine for odd use but arenâ€™t pleasant to use for regular cooking. This has been the upgrade I was hoping for with its premium feeling build and much improved cooking results. Stir frying in particular has been noticeably quicker, with much more even heat distribution even over the upper sides of the pan.The pan has some weight to it (as you would expect from an item of its quality), but it still comfortable for me to hold even one handed and provides dual handles for ease of moving from surface to surface. Cleaning has also proven to be easy with the non-stick surface, which has been particularly impressive considering the heat this can get to.In terms of value the RRP is high especially in comparison to my previous wok’s, but I believe in this instance the price is justified â€“ particularly as I canâ€™t see anything I would realistically improve on it (although a detachable handle would have been good for saving space).Highly recommended overall.

Title: Nice big pan that performs well
Review: When it comes to wok’s, I’m a bit of a purist and Carbon Steel is where it’s at. As a large pan though, with good capacity and a wok like shape, I’m quite happy with this.It’s a good weight, handles nicely and heats up well. It’s got that trendy ‘Hexclad’ type of finish that has all of the failings of both non-stick and stainless steel to create a honeycombed matrix of etched cells that supposedly create a pan that doesn’t stick too badly whilst being a bit more resilient to scratches .It worked well on my induction hob and after following the simple pre-use instructions of washing, wiping with oil, heating for a few minutes and washing again I was good to go. I’m not personally convinced this ‘seasoning’ has much of an effect as the material just isn’t really going to benefit from it in my opinion. Nevertheless I followed the simple instructions to optimise the pan for long and effective use.Thankfully, it’s supposedly good to 260c, as low temperature tolerance is a problem with many traditional non-stick pans. Personally, it won’t be replacing my carbon steel wok, but I can see it becoming a useful large pan for larger quantity cooking.Of course the test of any pan is how long it lasts before becoming unusable. So far it’s looking and performing well, but time will be the true test.

Title: Bit random in packaging?
Review: So I like to make a lot of stir frying, so was interested to try this out.When received I was somewhat underwhelmed with the packaging and lack of relation to the company in that no branded box, a small leaflet explaining pre use prepping, but little else, no guarantee instructions or contact details for registering of purchase date etcâ€¦for a pan costing over Â£70 I would have expected more detail reference from the manufacturer?This pan is a good weight, but it is rather large and I find it difficult to manage when on the hob, being short in stature with a high top stove, especially with manoeuvring a full pan to serve or transfer into the oven.It cooks as well as my basic wok, obviously the familiarity factor takes some getting used to with using it over time, but not being a professional cook Iâ€™m honestly not that impressed to warrant me paying the current retail price of Â£72 for using on an occasional basis.

Title: Sturdy, large, heavy wok
Review: I ordered this lovely wok as I needed a larger/deeper pan for stir frying, and this wok seemed like it would be perfect.The first thing that struck me about it was the weight, it is extremely heavy, which I do prefer with a pan, and this seems to work particularly well with stir frying.The pan is deep and thankfully both handles do actually stay cool enough to hold when in use.The non stick coating does what it claims and is in fact non stick, I have only used silicone tools when cooking with the pan, so I wouldnt expect to have caused any damage, but it does still look pristine after several uses, plus cleaning in the dishwasher.Overall I can’t fault it at all, it has a nice weight to it, its large, deep, and easy to use, its also easy to clean, and it seems robust and not easily damaged, so I’m happy to recommend it.

Title: Decent Wok
Review: I’ve had an old non-stick wok for ages and needed a new one. I got this and it is a pretty decent wok to be fair. It has an etched non-stick finish – it’s desperately trying to look like a hex-clad pan – and a works well on my induction hob. In use you can get it hot, but food does have a tendancy to slightly stick on the bottom (I’ve had the same issue with tofu and chicken). There’s no lid, I will have to look at getting one, and the long handle stays cold whilst you are cooking.Overall I’m reasonably impressed.

Title: Cooks brilliantly but poorly finished and no info about guarantee
Review: I was on the lookout for a new wok so I was very excited to try this Funky Pro wok but Iâ€™m feeling a little underwhelmed on the whole.The wok is wrapped in tissue paper inside the box and on unwrapping it I caught my finger on a sharp, deep scratch on the outer rim. So that wasnâ€™t a good start. There were also a few scuffs and scratches on the outside of the wok so, coupled with the cut in the rim, I would have been very disappointed if I had ordered this for a gift.I love the large size of the wok and the etched pattern on the inside is indeed very funky. It seems hotter than my old wok and cooked the stir fry a lot quicker too. Itâ€™s a little unwieldy to dish the food out from it as the handle is quite slim and the pan is so large.Itâ€™s interesting that the listing refers to a lifetime guarantee as there is no information in the box so no way to register for this or indeed contact the company should you need to on a later date. I will of course have a look for the companyâ€™s website but the information should really be in the box.Iâ€™m happy with the cooking functionality of the wok but I have deducted a star for my wok looking like a factory second and a star for the lack of information about the guarantee.
